I think my vette is haunted!!
During the weekend I decided to pull the Bose radio out of the dash and repair it. While I was disconnecting the dash pieces, I was listening to the radio. I was still listening to the radio when I got the radio bolts off and had totally disconnected the radio, and I was still hearing music. That's right I am listening to the car stereo while the Bose unit is disconnected and lying on the ground. After I sobered up, I realized that maybe the actual tuner is located somewhere else on the car. Surely someone can help explain this to me so I won't be afraid to drive this car....please

first off you are crazy to not have disconnected the battery while working on anything electrical in your car.
second, the recieve for the radio is mounted in the rear driver side storage bin i believe.
next time be careful to remove the negative terminal from your battery before you work on any of the wiring in your car you don't want to get zapped or start a fire.

Sorry Davin, but there is not nearly enough current in the radio connecters at low volume to 'start a fire'. It would not be wise to connect the wires to the radio with power on because it could damage the radio. Would it start a fire? No, blow a fuse? maybe. Thanks for the reply, but maybe someone else has a better idea where it is located.

its in the rear storage compartment behind the drivers seat next to the abs unit thats how it is in my 89 you might possibly find it there attached with velcro but i think later models might have it under the console somewhere.

No mystery there LeadFoot. The radio receiver should be located (crammed) in the compartment behind the passenger seat. (At least that's where it's located in my '95)
When you said your Vette was haunted, I thought you were going to say that you saw Boris Karloff in your rear view mirror when you were driving alone at night...
