Today was in the high 40s and I figured it was probably the last chance I would get to take my 92 out for the year so the woman and I jumped in the car and headed about 40 miles east to a small town named merrill where my niece lives. On the way in town I was feeling kinda spunky and the car was running good so I was toying around a bit. Well I passed a house that had a newer orange mustang sitting in front of it and as I passed by I got on the car a bit in second gear. just enough to get the boost up a little, No big deal.

After i got to my nieces we started having a conversation about the local car scene and the orange rustang up the road came up and she ( my niece) instantly got upset and talking about how the guy drives by acting like a jackass on her residential neighborhood road. She told me she actually had to threaten to call the guy in the last time.

Well Long story short on my way out of town I went past the guys house and I could see him and his buddies standing around in the garage so I decided to let her bounce off the rev limiter (7200 RPM ) in second and watched in my mirror as a couple guys came running out to the road and were staring at me pulling away threw a cloud of burnt rubber!

I laughed and didnt think nothing else of it until a few minutes ago when The guy called my cell phone! I could believe it and I was actually speachless as I wondered how in the heck he even got my number! that is until he started praising my car, The wild sound of it, And me for owning such a thing. I seriously couldnt believe it. It totally made my night. I will go to bed with a smile and maybe even a laugh here and there in my sleep!

Ps, I did ask if he wanted to run my old 92 with his new mustang. He said " It would be an embarrasment" bahahaha

My first thought about how the guy knew your number, would be that he is in law enforcement and ran your plates. He might be a cop or a probation/parole officer.

Haha good point but no. I am pretty sure if that was the case he wouldnt have been harrassing my niece and her neighbors. Plus the house was pretty rough.

the police are not able to obtain a person's phone number by running their plates. running the plates gives the officer the vehicle's year, make, model, vin, purchase date, mileage at the time of purchase, county of residence, and any additional owner info. the owner's driving record pops up on the next screen and gives their license info, ssn, and driving record to include suspensions, citations, and warrants issued.

so the big question is, did he call your niece and request your number? and if not, how did he get it?

Rev limiter (7200 rpm?) in second gear, 3.45 differential...purdy close to 90 mph...on the street, no less - assuming you did hook up, of course.

The car wasn't going more than 20 paul. The tires maybe 90 yes. And im not a jackass. This isnt a populated area with kids running around or a lot of traffic.
