Since you didn't specify a year…

You need to be aware that there are basically two different wheel offsets for C4s. Most 17" wheels need an adapter to use them on an earlier car. The break point is 1988.

That said, there is a manufacturer of ZR1 replica wheels (I guess I should specify that they are C4 ZR1 wheels, not C6 ZR1 wheels) that makes wheels in both offsets. Here's a link:

Cliff,
It's for a 1993 C4.
I want the highest quality ZR1 wheels. Not sure which finish, but chrome or painted.
What aftermarket wheel company makes the best?
Or can I buy original ZR1 wheels?
Does it matter?

By the way, I have prior experience with AFS wheels and was not impressed. I purchase their black chrome wheels about 7 years ago and once received, I found small micro-metal specs under the clear coat. Suffice, they were sent back.

You can't run the original A-mod ZR1 wheels on your base car. You will need to find a original set of 96 grand sport wheels(black) or 96 collector edition(silver) if you want factory GM wheels.

There is no difference in the ZR-1 9.5 and the '96 CE argent/silver 9.5 wheel. An argent/silver 9.5 if GM/OEM is a 56mm offset. The black A-mold/ZR-1 styled wheel was only used on the GS and done in 9.5 and 56mm used on the front of coupes and the rear of 'verts. There were also 8.5 @ 56mm and 11 @ 50mm. A ZR-1 11 is a 36mm offset and a "no go" for the base car.

OP doesn't mention his interest in 9.5 X 4 or a mix.

OE wheel used to do a "replica" of the GM/OEM "very thin machined edge" wheel but I don't know if they do or not presently. I'm guessing not and their "thinner flange" now isn't what I'd consider a "replica". Their wheels have made many happy and there's no reason I'm aware of to avoid them.

WV,
I was going off the OP's inquiry about a set of factory ZR1 A-mods in the for sale section.

I guess you can't be pleased?!

Your quote on OE wheels.

My question is when guys decide to remove their sawblade wheels and buy A-Mold wheels or ZR1 style ( it's the same thing ), who is the best Online Vendor out there today?

I don't know what type of bad experience you say you had with this company, "AFS Wheels" (the one you didn't know of at first) but it seems that just about everyone here that has dealt with them including me, has received excellent service and high quality wheels for a very good price. Had them for years now with absolutely no problems with the quality.

We know the question, and it's been answered. Instead of listening to the advice you're seeking you decide to knock it down and re-ask the exact same question again. My guess is you'll get the same answers no matter how many threads you start about wheels.

I'd like to bump this for the same reason as Zachdhodge. I have an '84 and plan to order wheels from AFS - just trying to decide on 9.5" all around, or 11" in the back. My concerns on 11" rims (1) the additional price of 315's, (2) the relative limited brand availability of 315's relative to 275's, and (3) how they look from the back.

I know there's a zillion pic threads out there but I have yet to find a pic specific to an '84 with 11" AFS wheels/315 tires, from the back. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide such a pic!

99% percent here would see a paint problem before they ever stressed a wheel to break.
So whats the big deal about finding the highest quality wheel? It's only about bling factor.... Geez!
