Where do you get that information?
Oh I meant this 86 LT5 ZR1 mule

The yellow 86 is Keith Beschi's LT5 Mule car. It wasn't a ZR-1 prototype or any prototype though. It was a narrow bodied 1986 Mule car for LT5 Development. There was more than one. 2 maybe 3 in all. It's a great car and I'd love to own it!!!!
There were no 87's. Of the 25 wide bodied King of The Hill Program cars built in 1988, only two remain. The two remaining 1988 King of The Hill Prototypes aren't ZR-1's either. I own one of them (EX5023) and Tyler owns the other (EX5014).
The ZR-1 name wasn't "coined" until after the 1988 EX cars were built. Thus, neither car has a ZR-1 emblem on them at all.
The 1989 ZR-1's were the first ZR-1's to wear the badging.
Confusing, I know but that's the story.

EX5014 and EX5023 are wide body ZR-1 Prototypes. They each have a unique history in their travels to private hands. They did not carry the RPO ZR-1. They where known as the King of The Hills aka KoTH. The ZR-1 RPO first showed up on 1989 Pilots and preproduction cars.

I had the privilege of sitting in an 83 back in 1982. It was a fully functional Corvette. They where shooting a media piece for PPG at my neighbors house in AZ. As a curious 13 year old I spent all day there as they shot pictures.

interestingly in that photo one can see one of the prototypes (either -14 or -23) has a concave rear end, while the other one has the big convex rear end endemic to ZR-1s.
Wonder if many of you are familiar with the Big Doggy ZR-2-the '90 hardtop in red with the 454.

it will not surprise me that one day, perhaps many years from now, that maybe one or more of the crushed '83's really weren't crushed after all, and were instead spirited away to someone's hideout just awaiting the time to be right to bring back into the public's eye.
I'm sure this happens more than we know, and actually I do know such was the case with the 1988 Olds Cutlass Indy 500 replica convertibles. 14 of them avoided the crusher.
So don't be surprised.......
