almost wrecked the vette!
im just posting this because im sure some of you might get a laugh out of it. well i made a right hand turn at a redlight, and traffic was coming pretty fast, so i gave it A LITTLE gas, and the car spun around in a circle facing the traffic coming towards me. luckily, the car stopped on the far left lane where no one was driving. a mustang gt passes and yells "learn how to drive that thing you damn punk." then a guy in a silverado stopped infront of me, laughed and put his cations on so i could turn the thing around. i felt so dumb. i should have just don't a complete donuts right in the middle of the highway and just kept going hahaha. its crazy how fast these things loose traction.

Burning Brakes
Did this once in my 84 back in 86... and then again in the rain in 96 in my 92.
In my 84 in the rain I could barely prevent the back end from sliding our when I needed new tires and the street was wet.

Something like that happened to me last year before the winter.
I'd already stored the car for winter meaning I'd done everything including pumped up the air pressure in the tires to prevent deformation from standing still for a long time. But then had to change garages in a hurry and drove the Vette from one garage to the other about 2 miles away. Anyway first intersection I was standing at a light turning left when the light turned green and I punched it a little but forgot about the increased air pressure. Tires didn't have enough grip and the car spun around like a boomerang. Thankfully the light on the main road was red and there were no other cars turning that's why I punched it a little anyway but man did I feel stupid. Come summer time I just had to repeat the same maneuver again with the correct air pressure and you guessed it no problems what so ever.
I just hope that the people stopped at the light didn't lough too much.

Seems that once you back out of a power slide in a C4 and the rear tires are gripping again, the car snaps back hard in the direction of your counter steer. So letting off the gas doesn't fully correct the problem, you've also got to be quick on the wheel or it's 180'sville.

I also did a 180 in the car soon after purchasing. It was around 50° that day, so the tires weren't too warm and I gave it too much gas. That left hand turn put me in the opposite lane. I was dumb enough to have traction control off too. Haven't driven with it off since then! Luckily it was a Sunday morning with no traffic. Could have been a lot worse. I thought I was going to slam against the opposite curb.

I was pulling onto the freeway in the rain on a dual lane onramp. It was straight. I was really surprised when I got up into the power band in 2nd gear and the rear end broke loose. I was praying I wouldn't hit the car beside me but I didn't and spun into the area between the onramp and the freeway. Luckily I was able to drive out of the mud, but it sure messed up the bottom of my car (full of mud).
About 6 months later the exact same thing happened. I was accelerating in 2nd gear and the rear end broke loose as I came into the power band. Fortunately I was on a wide road with nothing around me and I got it straightened out without any problems.
Good thing it doesn't rain very often around here...
