Are all 84-89 dash clusters all interchangeable?
I have an 89 vert project and when I got it it had a bad dash. All it had was a high pitch squeal when plugged in, no lights, no gauges, no nothing. It is not the original dash because the power board is separate from the rest of the circuit board. It's out of a 88 and earlier. My question is will my broken 84-88 dash work in my 89 if I have it repaired or do I need a dash specifically for an 89.

As stated above - the 84 is noticeably different - the bar graph is shaped different.
I do know that before going analog gauges in my 86 I grabbed a used cluster off of the for sale section here. I believe it was for an 88. It all fit and worked fine but the odometer hookup was different. I wanted to keep my original miles and my odometer was (if I remember correctly) a 3 wire unit. The later cluster had a 2 wire (or vice versa). Never did figure it out.

If I recall the '84 and the '85 are both one year only pieces. The '86 up had more of a tilt back to supposedly make it easier for the driver to see.
