paint job
I have an '84 that needs painting. Can anyone share what it would cost for a decent paint job? Maybe not show quality but a nice street restored paint job. I'm thinking of a color change but if it's too expensive i'll stick with the original.

Just make sure who ever you have do it knows what they are doing...getting fiberglass perfectly straight and smooth is harder that metal work. When I used to paint, a show quality job could run 8000.00+, so good street at least half that. Good luck! If you can find someone close and do some of the prep yourself, it may save you some money too.

If you go with a color change expect to pay much more. I'd look around at some different shops and compare prices, my buddy got his '92 painted for $2,500 and it came out really nice.

I agree, 5-7K for a great job. As mentioned, you get what you pay for.

I had a top quality job done on my last vette by a body shop owner. He did it at his "home" shop and it cost me $3000.00. He told me it would have been an easy 5k at his business.
I'm sure prices vary depending on the region and other factors. I would agree with the previous posts at a range of 4k to 8k.

This was my way out plus I did almost all the prep. Looked real good when done but is getting shop worn.
