My corvette arrives
Intercity Lines delivered my new-to-me 1996 convertible Sunday afternoon.
I set up the shipping through Jim, Mark and Linda were the drivers that brought the car to me. The car arrived protected by a car cover with an additional plastic cover over that. The driver's seat was covered with plastic and the floor was protected with a paper mat. Mark and Linda are very professional, they know exactly what they are doing!! The car was picked up in Monterey on Thursday, Mark called me on Friday with an estimated ETA of Sunday afternoon, he called me again on Saturday with an ETA of 2:00 pm on Sunday. He called again about 11:30 Sunday with an update and the car was delivered at 1:30.
I was suppose to fly out last Wednesday and drive the car home, but my mother became ill and I had to cancel the trip. I got shipping quotes that ranged from $750 to $1800........I paid more than double the lowest quote to have Intercity transport the car, but I felt it was worth the extra money to have it shipped in an enclosed truck, by a company that IS the carrier and not just a broker. When it came down to it, I figured the extra cost was money well spent if it kept the car from being damaged.
The car:
This is a one owner, 6 speed car with 46,000 original miles. It's not "perfect", but it is very nice! As part of the deal, I received new in the box ATE rotors and Hawk pads, a lightweight car cover, Factory Service Manuals (95?) and a few other goodies.
I need to do a few things to the car, the A/C is blowing through the floor and defrost vents, so I need to do the vacuum repair. Although the tires look great, the date of manufacture is 2001, so I need to replace them. I also need to repair/replace the driver's side mirror adjustment motor. I was aware of all of these issues except for the A/C problem.
I am very satisfied with the car, it runs and drives like new and the LT4 has plenty of power......for now.

Beautiful car there! The LT4 is awsome indeed, and a Vert to boot. Great!
The '95 FSM is fine, except remember that the '96 is OBDII, although there are a few things exclusive to the LT4 that will not be in there, but hey, that's what this forum is for, right?

Maybe you've already seen this, but helpful to understand some of the differences in the engines.
