Yep. Good points. I've run mid 13's with mine but unfortunately for me, I'm in "rarified air" where I live. High elevation. Although I believe my car could go high 12's at a track like Atco or Englishtown, I won't ever have that opportunity.

The internet is chock full of haters. Each car has it's pros and cons and that's all there is to it. If the most popular car was standardized for everyone we would all be driving a Toyota Camry. So I'm glad we have so many choices.

I had a 96 Z28 6 speed with an LT1. My 94 LT1 6 speed Corvettes were stronger.
I expect that the LS f-body cars are faster than the LT1 F-bodies, but I am guessing that it would be a drivers race between a stock LS1 f-body and a stock LT1 Corvette.
Either one if modified slightly will beat the other one stock.
For me, I like the Corvettes better for all around performance acceleration, handling, braking, mileage, etc.
They are both nice cars, but I just enjoy driving the Corvettes a lot more than I did my Camaro.

If those mean TA's are picking on you guys I'll help. Where are they let me have em, don't hold me down.
I personally don't see how they could beat an LT1 beings how they are about the same HP and such. Maybe
On a side note my nephew just bought an 02 WS6 with 38K on it for 12.2, with brand new tires.
I told him,
Sounds like the 2014 Hot Rod Power to me

I'm not sure why the F body's are getting such a bad rap. My son had three of the them and I liked them. The newest one the 01 had a interior that was at lest as good as my vette although the lay out wasn't as good as a C4 and I never did like the seats in the Camaro(not enough side bolster). The car was solid with no rattles or squeaks but he did have to up grade the brakes and suspension for the track and after those up grades it handled better and was faster than my vette. True he had to put money into it but still had a lot less than it would cost to buy a 01 vette. Not saying that F-body's are as good as vettes but they are a good car with a lot of potential.

I'd rather have a nice C4 over a late f-body anyday. No matter how hard I try I just can see anything good about the lines on those cars. People say the same thing about the C4 tho. Who cares about what's faster anyways.
People that don't like C4's for whatever reason will probably never appreciate them. When I am rowing mine through the gears - I find I really don't care what other people think one bit. The only person that needs to enjoy the car is me.

Though I think it would depend on gearing and transmission.
The F -body Guys have allot to thank the Corvette.
They got its left overs.
The C4 TPI was put in the Fbodies
The C4 LT1 was put in the Fbodies
The C5 LS1 again put inside the Fbody after the Vette got it first.
And even today the Camero Gets the Vettes Left over Engines.
As for Trans ams , I love Pontiacs but I like the real pontiacs (when pontiac made there own engines 421, 455, 428, 400 ect..
The 99 Trans am just don't have the flavor.
But they are great cars with corvette engines in them.
Also the after market has made more performance parts for the F-body cars it seems.

First one I drove was in high school circa 1978. Car was a '73. Granted it had been shall we say "enjoyed" by a buddy of mine whose parents bought it for him, but that damn thing squeaked like an old rocking chair and rattled like a bag of marbles.
It WAS a fun car to drive, and for a couple of teenage dudes in the 70's, it was the ultimate chick magnet.....which was all that counted. It wasn't even my car, and it landed me in front of the municipal judge twice.
T-Tops off.....Ted Nugent blaring out the windows....summertime in small town America. The C3 was THE car that got me addicted to Corvettes. Lumps and all, I will probably buy one someday.

I believe the L98s were very low 14sec cars, the LT1s high 13s and the LS1s mid 13s.
Sorry but Frank's car was never "bone stock", believe me. And I have the time slips to prove it...
He rags on me about his LT1 being quicker than my L98 but we both ran in the mid 13s maybe 8-9 yrs ago and neither of us were "bone stock".
That said we have had some very low DAs at Englishtown, down into the -1,500' in early spring. It was on one of those days that my 300chp L98 pulled a 13.01sec pass..
Mr. Mojo went 12.99 in his stock LT1 6 spd
