I am very much considering the idea, thank you. A white GS stripe. It turns a negative into a positive situation.
Any thoughts on what I should expect to pay? And is that a flat white, or metallic? I guess I need to hunt the forum for some pics.

After looking at many pictures, I have really come to favor a white GS stripe. Tomorrow morning will swing by the mechanic and see what he has to say about the damage. Then to body/paint guy I have used in the past to see what he has to say about a repair/repaint of the hood, vs the stripe. Thanks for all the input. Ive mentally budgeted about $500. Hopefully I will not suffer sticker shock.

I accidentally tripped my hood support while changing my spark plugs and had a can of anti seize sitting on top of the radiator expansion and didn't notice the damage for a month it also cracked the tank. I know that sick feeling you have when u saw the cracks in your paint

Still a fingers crossed situation, but so far so good.
I returned to the shop, and the manager could not have been any more cooperative. He looked at it and immediately apologized and said they would make it right. Sent me over to a local body shop, a place I have used before and trust.
So as of right now, am bringing the vette in this morning. Also, since he will be working on the car, I am having him repaint the front bumper, which has road dings and a spider crack, and the targa top, which had a scratch from the previous owner. The last 2 will obviously be on my dime.
Since the shop is paying for the hood, decided against the stripe, but will return to the original color. Like I said, fingers crossed this all works out.
