Default Can this be? $$$$

I broke the brake booster check valve the other day. I bumped it, and it cracked. No biggie, I'll go pick one up at autozone.
Needless to say they don't have the correct valve, so over to the Help asile and pick up a generic one for $6.00. Installed and back on the road.
That night I check Eckler's, Mid America, ect for the correct part. Nobody lists it. Over to Ebay
First listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-84-96-Corvette-Brake-Booster-Vacuum-Check-Valve-GM-12521454-Delco-179-961-/330810006379?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d05d01b6b&vxp=mtr
Must Be a misprint.
Next listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDelco-179-981-Power-Brake-Booster-Check-Valve-And-Grommet-/130895637032?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e79fcea28&vxp=mtr
At least he's offering free shipping
And the best:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDelco-179-981-Power-Brake-Booster-Check-Valve-And-Grommet-/350652940834?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51a48b4222&vxp=mtr
Has two sold one. Really? Sombody actullay paid $269

Did I miss something? are the internal parts made from platnium or red krytonite or something. This is a part that dosen't cost more to manufacture than a toy at the bottom of a box of cereal.

The "sucker born every minute" clause applies here too.

So you're telling me I didn't get a good deal when I bought the other one?

3D Printers, though dropping in price, are still over a grand. When they get below that, I'll buy my own and not worry about such things.

got mine at napa with new seal for $9. Probably could get one from a junkyard even cheaper, I am sure there are many GM cars you could get one off of that fits. it's just a check valve, right?

The Raybestos # is CV89022
15/16" inlet.

those EBay merchants are down-right crooks. But, if someone doesn't do their research, is stupid, and has money to blow, whatever....

Mind posting the part# you picked up at your local auto parts store? Might want to stock up before the Zombie Corvette Apocalypse comes...

Sad but true. Good deal that you were able to get one for $6.

If those little fittings are going for that kind of money on a regular basis the ROI for a 3D printer would be short indeed.

Come to think of it...maybe I should buy a 3D printer and a Renegade intake.....I could about quit my day job !
