Default I now understand why you guys love the C4

I picked up my "new" to me 1994 Corvette coupe. Torch red with black leather sport seats. I would rate the body a 9 and the interior a 9 as well, even the CD player works! I think the AC blows warm but I couldn't care less about that. What I did find was that people LOVE these cars. In less than 2 hours I had 3 people comment on how cool my car was. I smiled when I told them it was 20 years old and only cost 8k. Shifting through the gears tonight on an empty highway, I really felt content. I know its just a car, but it is an excellent car and I am glad I bought her!

Already ordering parts!

Welcome to the club.

Owning a Corvette you soon feel they are not just a car they are a passion, they have a personality that few cars ever have.

I have had my vette for more that 16 years, i still smile when i slam that pedal to the floor. The longer you own the corvette the harder it is to let them go, it becomes an obsession.

That's so true. Waited 40 years for mine ('95 Polo Green vert) and it's a thrill every drive. Mine had 18k on it. Brand new car performance, great cornering, drove it at Corvettes at Bondurant and showed the newer gens what a C4 can do. Bang for the buck...the champion.

Thanks guys, yes this is my first Corvette. I always wanted one, five kids later, I decided it was time! I am just shy of 45 and I have had dozens of cars. I have had Cadillacs, Mercedes, MR2s, you name it. I already like this corvette better than those! Honestly, the C4 is the best kept secret. They are really something special.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I hope to contribute however I can!

Congratulations and welcome.

I agree with you that the C4's are one of the best kept secrets. They are really fun to drive and have a unique "feel" to them that I love.

I noticed that the sickness has started. You said you already ordered parts. I have had Corvettes for over 24 years and still find myself looking for parts for modifications. The mod bug never lets go.

Can't wait for the pictures.

After four decades of stringent, er, study, I've decided what distinquishes the C4 for me is the way it fits. C3s have their memorable squat. C5s and 6s are just cars when it comes to ingress and egress. But a C4 sucks you in and swaths you and doesn't willingly let you go. How many times have we parked after vigorous exercise, shut the beast down, and just sat their luxurating in the ambience? Unless yours is a later-year, when it got soft in its dotage, the driving experience is all-enveloping. Credit a lot of it to those cursed door sills, which wouldn't exist except that Reuss demanded a targa top. Thanx, Lloyd.

I agree about the way the C4 wraps around you. I didn't buy a c5 for that very reason, it just wasn't as cool to me. After looking at my car under some bright lights, I have to say my exterior is more like a strong 7.5. It still looks great but needs buffed out. The interior is still an easy 8, possibly a 9. All my buddies at the firehouse refuse to believe I got this car for 8k. I think it is because these cars are timeless. If you look back at some of the cars from twenty years ago, they are not so pretty and most have long been retired to the graveyard, but these C4 cars look every bit as good as most new cars rolling off the lines.

When I first sat in a C4 around 13yrs ago, that "fits me" feeling was the seller...
