"Wave the Wave"....what?
Ever since I bought my first Corvette I've been told by other Corvette owners to be sure and "wave the wave". First of all, I have no clue as to what the "wave" is. Is it like: the Batman signal? the Boy Scout salute? the Vulcan greeting Mr. Spock gives? I'm afraid of trying something else since another driver might view it as an obscene gesture...! Actually, I wave at lots of other people driving 'vettes, but none of those guys have ever waved back.

I've had some troubles with "the wave". First nobody told me about it. Then a guy in a C5 flashed his lights, by the time I flashed back it was too late. Then I anticipated the wave. I wave, I get ignored. Hummmm. I learn quickly but it seems others aren't briefed on the process either.
Since I drive a white Corvette with white wheels could it be that they are looking to see a good looking lady but instead they see a 60 year old man instead?
I'm so confused.

When I got my vette I didnt know what the wave was about so I just waved back and made up a name for the guy. My wife was amazed that I knew at all the other Corvette drivers.

I always wave and get about a 70% return wave. Most often it is the C5 and C6 cars that don't respond.
It is more the wave, hand held up, or an actual wave, nod of the head as you are side by side at a light....just that little indication of hello to a fellow owner.
