the car is officially licensed and survived its maiden voyage totaling around 50 miles. the idle spiked up a shade here and there and the charging volts dropped town to 11.5 at one point but overall the drive was a success. engine temps on the highway were 221 degrees and in town they stayed around 230 degrees but not exceeding 233 degrees.

so, idle adjustment, charging system check, trans fluid and filter change, fix the power windows, figure out why the passenger side headlight is not rotating, and some interior and exterior work and the car will be as good as new. overall i'm pleased with how well the car ran today.

still battling the idling issue. I really need to make sure its set properly. was idling fine and then after a longer than normal drive, the idle creeped up a bit. then it goes back down.. got some small bugs to sort out.

How does the 84 accelerate? Does she pull strong?

The car accelerates swiftly. Squeals the tires into second at a full throttle upshift. The engine temps are good and the oil pressure is always around 60psi or better when cruising. I had to leave my cruiser at the station when I get off tomorrow morning so I dropped it off before work and drove the 84 to work. Drove well overall but for some reason wasn't shifting back down to 1st when stopped. This is the first automatic car I've owned..don't like not being in control. It makes for a good cruiser and once the small things are ssorted out it will be a great car. I'll snap some pics of it I the parking lot at work some point tonight and post them up!

thank you! once its painted it will look stellar! but i have to make sure its 100% before paint. it wasn't wanting to shift back into 1st gear when stopped and was holding gears for a lot longer than normal and was also not wanting to shift into overdrive this morning. i'm going ot change the trans fluid and filter before work and see if that helps any.

not interested in selling it. still enjoying the car and even though it has some bugs to work out, it still puts a smile on my face. if i ever do get to a point where i need to sell the car, i will offer to sell it back to the previous owner before listing the car for sale.
