Are you going to check out what's on the flash drive? Could be millions in off-shore accounts!

Man with all the loot your finding in your car I'm going to start buying up used cars and go treasurer hunting for extra income.
Your son did a bang up job on the engine bay.

he really tries. i give him the simple green and a roll of blue shop towels and show him what he can and can't clean. then he goes at it no questions asked.

going to pick up some bronze interior pieces today. i'll post pics of what i bring home here in a couple hours.

Done yet?

There is a yellow 84 down the road from me. I'm trying to convince the wife I need one corvette for each foot.

i didn't get a whole lot done yesterday but i did manage to acquire some bronze interior parts. i'm still missing the rear floor carpet that goes over the bins, the carpet behind the seats, the plastic door sills with the pads, and the front floor carpet. i also did not manage to get any bronze seats yet. i'll take cloth or leather, i don't care. in addition o the carpeting, i also got a few interior plastics.

pics of the two piles of stuff that i brought home:

What can I say? You are CRAZY! - as crazy as I was to try to rebuild a "parts only" C4. Yep, mine was an '89 with 93K miles that had been thoroughly trashed. Except, like your '84, it ran beautifully. So after plunking down a measly $3.5K, I was a Corvette owner. Now, after putting another $11K into it, I own a really beautiful Corvette. Just takes time, money, and a passionate desire not to give up on your car. When you are finished with it, you will feel that sense of pride deep inside you for having brought something back from the dead!

am i crazy?? yes i am, lol. i just can't see parting a car that i know cries out to be fixed. i can learn everything about the car throughout the minor resto and i can't pass up valuable time teaching my older kids about not only this car but about Corvettes in general. when the car is done it will make a great driver and a car my wife can enjoy along with me.

We've all been there.....staring at a "distressed" car and seeing it how it could be, not how it is....knowing damn well we should really walk away. And yet somehow, it winds up following us home. Many $$$ and bloody knuckles later, it returns from the dead. Very satisfying.

Then we sell it for 1/3 of what we have in it.

I'm rehabbing a 1970 Mach 1 right now. I feel your pain. And your joy.

Is that guy on drugs?? I'm surprised the ad wasn't from El Paso....no shortage of clowns here wanting $10K for a clapped out '84 with no title that ran when parked in 1998.

One of these days, I'm gonna do a "budget" rehab. Rules will be no new parts, everything done on the cheap, fabricated instead of bought when possible....you get the picture....just to see how cheap I can do it. Body will have to be straight and all glass intact. Beyond that, junkyard motor trans etc...used interior....ghetto garage paint job....etc

The qualifier is is has to run and drive correctly when done, and look presentable from 5' away.

I've got a nice 89 that runs and drives with right at 70k miles on it that I would happily let go of for $9500!

[/QUOTE]

If I brought that home my wife would run over me with it and tell the police it was a accident.
