The wave is dead... :-(
Everyday that I go to work I see at least 2-3 vetts on the way and nobody does the wave anymore. What has this world come to?????? I used to expect that from the C5s but from the same C4s. that is just wrong. When you wave they only look at you and say... "Who the hell is this guy :-)" .
I just wanted to get some other opinions from other people to see if you have also encountered this same fenomenon...

Yeah, some do and some don't wave. C-5's are the worst, but I usually still get a wave from C-4 drivers. I think most C-5 guys are rich first time Vette owners that don't know their "****" from a hole in the ground!! They've never touched a wrench before. That's my 2 cents!!

I get about a 50/50 response from C4 guys. I think I've only had ONE C5er wave. I just don't think they know about it. Maybe they are too stuck up to care.....Not sure which, but it still seems rude to me.

What I've noticed is that you have to wave first.
I mean like your arm all the way out the window, and ya might get the guy to raise 3 fingers.
A real wave is hard to get. C-5"s it aint happened yet.

I think a lot of it probably has to do with rarity of the car. I seem to see C5's way more often than C4's, and even see those on a regular basis. Maybe they just get tired of waving all the time. But you can bet if an owner of a '72 or older vette sees another one, they'd be more apt to wave just because you don't see 'em all the time.

Sometimes I don't get a wave back, and maybe they just didn't see me, that's happened to me sometimes when guys wave first. If it's a pretty clear road and there's no doubt the other guy sees me I'd say I get a wave around 90% of the time. Last week I was on the highway, and I got a wave all the way from beyond the divider, a C5 no less!

I waive and have decent response. I'm always sure to waive first at someone who obviously keeps up their Vet. An owner who drives a ncie shiny vet has never failed to waive back. NOT INCLUDING C-5 owners, they have to waive first

People are to busy watching whats going on near them to notice cars in the other lane. There have been numerous threads about idiots on the roads and tailgaters. You can no longer relax while driving because you're likely to be killed if you look away for more then a second.
I think the problem with the C5 owners is they let their girlfriends and wives drive them. I see more middle aged women driving C5's and it's pretty obvious it's not their car. They don't wave because there to busy putting on make-up and trying to look good in the car. And they definately have no clue when somebody waves other then "Hey, he thinks I look good in my hubby's vette". I've pulled next to countless women driving C5's and their noses are so far in the air they have to stick it out the window and they never look any direction other then straight ahead.

I find it goes in streaks. Some days absolutely no waves. The last 3 days I have seen 8 vettes and gotten 7 waves. :seeya

don't worry. keep waving. some vette owners just do not know that the wave exists, so if you keep waving, they'll get the message.
lately i see more and more vette drivers (including C4 and C3's) on their cellphones around here. can't yap and wave at the same time...
hey, a Corvette demands your undivided attention!!! get off the phone and drive (and wave)!!! :seeya

Guess to some people a Vette is just another car to them especially the rich. Get some poor old bastard like me who has dreamed of a Vette his hole life and can finally muster the money for, believe me I'll wave. :seeya

Yeah I know what you mean man, to me my car is a dream come true for me. I don't wave at C5's unless waved at first. I always wave at all other vettes I see on the road.

I was out today in mine and passed two C4s, and probably 3 C5s. Both C4s waved, but none of the C5s did. In all fairness, the C5s were going the other direction on divided highways, the C4s were right next to me. However, I am finding it rather difficult and discouraging in the wave department :( People just don't seem to wave that much.
I guess one problem I have is my tinted windows. Maybe people don't see me waving??
But, I always wave :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya
