this 96 collector edition 15k miles bought for lt4 engine to put in a hot rod and parting out the rest. there seem to be some real stupid people out there. this just makes me sick http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-lef...525548&vxp=mtr
Thats Sean Pilot out of LA. He probably got the car minus the drive train. He's a pretty good source for C4 stuff, and he advertizes in the LA Craigs list.
true, the parts are worth more than the car as a whole in most cases. in the case of the 96 in questions here, i believe that its was a slap in the face to Corvette enthusiasts to dismantle a good running, low mileage CE for parts. it just screams the lack of respect this self proclaimed "Corvette dismantler" has for Corvettes as a whole. sure its a necessary evil to part out cars that cannot be salvaged so that other ones may live on but in this case, its just plain rude.
Look, he's providing parts to people like us who need them,
Second if it was a restorable vehicle, he prob would have done it.
15K miles, no accidents, no flood damage? I doubt it needed restoration.
I agree that available parts are a good thing for our hobby, but I'm a hot rod builder as well and there are PLENTY of options for engines!
I came across a great deal on a ZZ4 engine that's going in my 57' Chevy truck project.
I just can't see parting a car like this....
