1996 lt1 oil pan replacement
I have a 1996 Corvette LT1 engine I am putting in a rod and need to replace the dented oil pan.
Is the LT1 pan different than the LT4 Pan?
The after-market Aluminum finned one is about one (1") deeper so I am concerned about the oil pick-up being too shallow.
Could I change the oil pump pick-up to correct this and use the after market pan?
A source for an aluminum pan to fit the LT1 would help me.
Any input greatly appreciated!

one piece rear seal l98 oil pan = lt1 oil pan = lt4 oil pan. nothin much changed there.
what you need to be aware of is all these pans are EXTREMELY shallow; 7 inch nominal; but closer to 6&7/8th inch actual; I speculate that this is due to the lack of ground clearance with these cars. If your street rod has adequate ground clearance I would not fool around with Corvette oil pans, the choice of pumps and pickups are very limited. With that said, if you choose to go with a deeper (and probably less expensive) pan, there are a with assortment of pickups available, and the pickup height itself is adjustable to a certain degree. I would search the online catalogs for the type oil pump you intend to use and the recommended pickup for that pump in the depth pan you will be using.
