I thought the 93 Vette was way out of my affordability range. When I made $100k a year, I thought, gees, new C5 is way out of my affordability range, and now....a new C7 is without question, way out of my affordability range. It never stopped me from going to the new car show rooms to ogle them though.

Paying cash for your Corvette feels great. My Vette and my Accord were both paid for in cash and are both older, well cared for cars. I sleep great thinking about them. So mazdaverx, enjoy it.

i really do enjoy the cars more when they are paid for they are of no burden and when something needs repaired i feel stress free if it is costly. i despise making car payments, lol especially when my wife has to have a minivan that costs $30k!!! yikes!!

Nice surprise to scroll down and see Malcolm Konner!! indeed MK was king back then.
Growing up in Paramus in the 70s, as a teenager with nothing going on in the summer, I occasionally rode my 10-speed bike through the back streets to MK to check out the Corvettes. I was interested in the older vettes. There were lots of C2s in the back lot. For years it seemed, there was a maroon coupe that looked abandoned and jammed up against the chain link fence in the corner, yep still there.. I wondered why nobody wanted that one lol
There were lots of early C3s sitting upstairs and outside near the ramp, mostly BBs, I liked that hood
Wondering through the dealership, sales guys were always nice to me as I was just a punk kid. Nobody ever told me to scram- beat it kid.
Sometimes the sales guy in the office would come out to chat, one time telling me the older corvettes with chrome bumpers were better than the new ones with rubber bumpers hahaa really! was that you Mike??
Then I'd bike over to Paramus Bowling, Suburban Diner, Ramsey Outdoor store. I was probably the last kid in school to get a 10-speed, I'd rode everywhere. And funny to me seeing the Shoe Town sign reflection in the photo.
It took me a few years later to realize that the MK dealer sticker placed on back bumpers of late C3/C4s was based on the shape of a C1 steering wheel.
and a thrill for me that my very cool older sister had a 65 roadster about then, my other very cool sister had a Vega haha. those were the days.

Nice pics, Mike. I think my first trip to Criswell was around that time, 93 or 94... Dealership has gone through a few changes in style, with the Geo overhang, long gone... Again, thanks!
Any pics of Callaway Corvettes at MK in the late 80s?

As an '86 owner I would LOVE to see a MK Edition in person. I know I will at some point.

Those Konnor's pictures brought back memories here also. I purchased my first new vette, a 1971, from them. I guess they ran into a few problems as they sold out to the Meyer's family several years ago. They call themselves Paramus Auto Mall.

The whole Konner family could not have been nicer...it was a great place to work and I owe my career to them.

The Konner's didn't run into problems...they Sold out in 1991. Mr Konner passed away in 1983.

C4-1995 ZR1
C6-2012 Centennial GS Convt and 2013 427 convt...2012 Callaway RPO B2K
With the above being my favorites...I really believe the 2013 427 Convt will go down as one of the Best of the Best of my selling Generation....
But the C7 has the makeup to get some votes. I should be driving the C7 on the track soon so I will weigh in with more info after that.
