Default ..tiny to BIG HUGE UGLY

So I've had my '91 for about a year and a half now. When I first got it, on the back top bumper, I noticed a tiny little bubble. I figured it happens all the time and it's just the clear coat got nicked or something. After a ton of rain, wind, and other crazy weather the last couple weeks, it has gotten.... LIKE THIS

As you can see it's gotten a bit out of control....Is there anything I can do to prevent further peel-age?!

Oh my god!!
I usually use some clear nail polish, chicks are great for that they always have some ready to go never dried up like touch up paint

I would look where it is obviously started to lift and get moisture under the clear coat, get a hair dryer and warm the paint around it to dry it but don't burn it. then apply some clear nail polish/lacquer to prevent any further lifting. Maybe bring it to a professional touch up guy, who can sand the clear coat back and touch it up without having to do the whole rear bumper.

Hope you can save it from becoming an expensive repair bill, a year ago would have done the trick but now it needs expert care.

The best thing, short of a paint job, is to sand the old clear coat off and respray it.

At the rate the clear is peeling, it's going to look uglier soon. If the paint underneath is ok, as keystring mentioned, have a painter remove the clear and apply another clearcoat.

Is that original paint, or was the car painted before you bought it?

You need a repaint. The clear is going to peel everywhere.

It could have been they didn't wipe the entire surface down with degreaser before spraying and missed a spot...

Shouldn't cost too much to get it resprayed...I had my halo & rear bumper done after an off track excursion and it ran me $300.

Cheapest easiest way... Wet sand the clear..(do not break through the base coat).. Try to keep your repair area as small as possible... Then pick up a aerosol bomb of clear..prep sol and tape your area giving yourself some room to dust in the repair.. Spray on your clear..Let dry.. Wet sand again to remove any ridges or dust..then buff...

Not the professional way .. But a lot cheaper than a shop would charge... And can look good for quite a while..
