I know some of you have your doubts about this ProComp Optispark. I think if it were a product with a lot of defects it would be all over the internet. I'm sure every brand of opti (even GM) has its failures. Just saying! We do not manufacture the ProComp Optispark, and are just a dealer for them. If we determine that they are not reliable or are of poor quality we will discontinue selling them.

I had to replace a new Delco 6 months after installation with another Delco unit. Hope this one lasts longer. I wonder if guys have doubts because this about the same price as the cheap crap that comes from over seas. I've read so many times "if it doesn't have a Mitsubishi optical pick up it's no good" so I guess thats another concern. If your unit is truly a good one that would be great for C4 owners.

Ya, maybe we should sell them for $399 and give only a 3 month warranty, We would probably sell a lot of them.

Funny thing is I was thinking about that before I posted. I know it's crazy but over the years I've seen people equate price with quality. Many times a higher price means more was put into a product and that means better quality but not always. Charging $200 dollars for a can opener doesn't mean it opens a can any better than a $5 one.
Anyone supporting the Forum and selling quality products I wish them all the best in their business . I hope I won't be replacing my opti again anytime soon because it's a PITA.

The aftermarket optical pick-up modules are definitely a weak point and tend to fail often. Do we know who makes the module in the ProComp Opti? The Mitsubishi unit appears to be the most reliable.

Hi Mk 82,
We've been told by the manufacture that they are made offshore like most every Optispark.

Did the manufacture tell you who made the optical pickup?

No, just that the hole unit is made offshore.
I guess just about everything is made offshore these days.

My MSD just took a dump, so I'm strongly considering this option...you have an estimated shipping to get to 33764 by friday, if I don't order till tomorrow (feb 6).
