"Born On" Date
I was happy to discover that the rumor about the build date being written inside the left fender pocket cover (the one that you remove to take out the battery) was, in my case, true.
Here's my car's "Born On" date - 11/20/1985.

if i didn't have to go to work this morning, i would be out in the garage pulling that panel off of my 94, lol. i've had it off a few times but never really looked for a date.
Never heard of that rumour.

I'd really like to know the "birth date of my '89, but I had to change out my busted front clip (hood), so it won't be there. I do have a copy of the original "build sheet, however, but can't seem to interpret any numbers on it as the build date. Does anyone know if it's shown there, or - if so - which number it is? I DO know that the car was the 6780th built, that model year out of a total 26,412 cars.

You're right. It is a different build sheet format. But that's not the problem. Seems that when Corvette Museum copied my build sheet they cut off the top edge of it - where your date is posted. Think I'll contact them and request a replacement. After all, they charged me $100 for the information, so I should get all of it
