Default "Back-Up" Lights — '94 6 SPD??

Over the period of a few yrs. now, my '94 6 spd has had an intermittent problem with the back-up lights — "sometimes they work, most times they don't work. At times when I would engaged "reverse" and played
with the brake and clutch pedals, simultaneously, the back-up lights would come on. Most recently, that hasn't happened. They might work
normal for maybe 10 to 15 shifts to reverse then stop working for
triple that amount of shifts. Weird. Any advice/input would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's not the easiest to remove but remove it and clean/soak the ball end of it with carb cleaner, acetone, or whatever you have available. There's likely no need to buy a switch. I've seen one person say his had a washer on it and all I've ever seen DID NOT but I've not replaced 100 of them either. If there's a washer consider removing it from the install. The only reason for replacement I would think might be if the electrical connector aspect of it were leaking. Clean first save the $50.

I'll see your 22 and raise you.
Think I am getting confused with the drain plug?
