Hood issue 87 Corvette
My hood will not spring up when the release is applied.
However, I can open the hood by pulling it up.
I replaced the hood springs in the housing and the 2 front
hydraulics and lubricated all catch points.
Any further ideas?

IIRC someone suggested loosening the whole assembly on the hood, then lowering the hood and see if the assembly shifts into position, then re-tighten..

The hood should not spring open by itself, but that said even without the assist shocks the hood should pop up 1/4 to 1/2 inch for you to lift it the rest of the way. Even though my 85 does not have the hood lift strut that makes it feel like the hood weighs nothing, like when i opened a friends later model C4 and got the shock of my light how easy it was to lift open He would close the hood most of the way and drop it the last couple inches, i know his hood strut works cause these C4 hoods weigh a ton

The hood pins can bind in the latches if they aren't aligned correctly, which prevents the hood from popping up by itself.
You can change the alignment by loosening the three bolts that attach the pin mechanism to the hood.
You can check the pin depth by pressing down on the hood in the latch area while it's closed. It should have a VERY SMALL amount of up and down motion. Too much and the hood will bounce around while you're driving. Too little and the pin can bind in the latch and keep it from opening. That is adjusted by loosening the giant nut and turning the pin in or out with a screwdriver in the slot on the end of the pin. Good luck with the giant nut -- mine are like welded into place and it's really hard to find a wrench big enough to fit.
