Any easier way to remove targa top ???
I have a '92 with a glass roof. I really hate putting the thing on and off again, :cry but I really like having it off a lot. Is there any way easier than having to get that stupid wrench out all the time, i.e. Wing nuts or something. I was thinking about carrying around a battery powered wrench to make it quicker too. What do you guys do?
the biggest pain is when it starts to rain, oh well, it's not a convertible. :mad

I really haven't seen anything easier.
The electric wrench idea might be the best thing. But how big is it? And you will have to be a little more careful not to cross thread one of the screws.
I agree, a pain in the but to remove the roof panel. I never take mine off anymore. Just too much trouble.

electric screwdriver is the easiest solution. I have been timed at under a minute and a half at taking it off and storing it in the rear by myself. if you do it enough it comes quickly... :D

I always wondered why Chevy didn't use dzus style fasteners or something like that. They're a snap to get on and off and are great at holding the deck lid down on my racecar but that's all they are doing is holding the bodywork together. I'm guessing that you need the solid bolts to help stabilize the roof as it seems to be a stressed panel in the overall bodywork.
I think MidAmerica has a "special" electric screwdriver they sell through the C4 catalog.

I made a lift to hold the top, but still deal with the bolts.
P.S. Doesn't hurt the wheather stripping on the roof panel.

Last time I put mine back in, I almost scratched the top of the car when I lost my balance leaning across the seat, It was a hot day and I think sweat off my leg and arms= disaster :mad almost,  I'll be alot more cautious from now on.

I don't take mine off anymore. I don't have anywhere to put it since I installed the harness bar. The Camera mount is what's really in the way.

Ive thought about getting an electric screwdriver of sorts, but after putting it on and taking it off so many times, I have become very proficient at it.:) It dosent really bother me anymore.

I would be careful if you use any type of powered device to remove the bolts, So you will not damage the bolts. I would think that the bolts may get a little rounded on the inside from using a electric device. I understand about the time needed to install, But I think the most time it has taken me to install was about 4 minutes. The longest part was to make sure it was seated properly.

The fun part is , the more you take it off, it increase the chances of leaking. Most leak somewhat after time. The new gasket cost ablut $250 or so. :U

Count your blessings-The glass top is MUCH easier to seat, and install than the fiberglass top, at least from my experience.
