Lol. I have on admit two nights ago I did hit slight patch of ice. Spun the rear end a bit but no big deal. I just don't want to put my "cocaine cowboy" away for another 4 months

I paid for storage for a few years then realized it was not worth it. I keep some of mine outside under nice covers. A couple hundred every few years for covers is cheaper than $100 a month. No snow yet here either which means no salt yet so one of mine is still out. It's my DD all summer so it will be out until salt hits the road.

Yeah, I don't think I could stand a whole winter w/o going out for at least two or three quick zips, just to keep 'er limbered up! No salt on rural roads, except at intersections, so both the Z and der wife's C3 get to sniff some cold air and stretch their legs at least once or twice a month, as long as there's no drifts to contend with. So, I'm with ya!

Yep, Same here. Between snow storms, If the roads are dry, I will run it. The collector car plate will keep it off the road in January. But I could see doing a donut or 2 on some fresh powder on our deadend.

If you don't think putting a car away and not using it all winter will cause problems, then you need to pay more attention to the threads posted in the spring... You will see many threads of problems guys are having with there cars when pulled from hibernation. You only need to run a car once every 3 or 4 weeks to keep it going without problems and almost anywhere in the US gets a break that often.. Just make sure you get the car to full running temperture so you don't have condensation problems......WW

I refuse to put mine away too! Still don't drive in the rain or snow, but we have had a mild winter so far here in Idaho. Only snow in the mountians and very little rain in the valley!

I drive my 87 and motorcycle all year, here in the Philly area. Just don't do it with ice on the ground or in a snow storm. Last year actually drove the 87 with the Targa off on a really nice day.

It's the rain (and lots of it) that puts a damper on driving year round here. Seat gets wet every time I open the door. The number of dry vs wet days does not make insurance worth it.

Once the salt hits the road my vette stays in the garage until the spring. I have been doing this for many years now and have never had a problem, you just have to know how to store it properly. It also gives me time to do some preventive maintenance/upgrades that i prefer not to do during the summer months as i would rather be driving it then. But to each his/her own, there is no right or wrong here as long as you're enjoying your vette.

I was out cruising in my 89 for a few hours today, temp was 54 deg but all that means is I can't open the window all the way..Tomorrow is suppose to be 63 deg , both windows go down......WW

drove mine today in the snow, it wasn't really sticking to the roads yet. I put it in the garage on a trickle and take it out all year, just not after a recent snow storm. we get plenty of days where it's nice enough and you can justify not bypassing the tb and putting in that new heater core. 40 degrees with the top off and the heat on a bit is my perfect day. although it would be better if I wasn't 6'3. head gets a bit chilly when its colder

Not going to be putting mine away this year. After last years mice / chipmunk issue. I figure I'll just put the good car cover on before the heavy stuff hits.
