C4 a late model?
Before the C5 arrived does anyone remember the C4 being called a "Late Model".
There was straight axles, mid years, sharks and 84-96 were called late models.

I remember the term "AERO VETTES" being used by those of us old guys who have been in this hobby for a long time before the C4s INTRODUCED...
But gosh up until the C4 was introduced there were only 3 generations and the C's were around 16 years before the introduction of the C4... A kid could have been old enough to get his drivers licence if he was born in 68 and and still buy the current generation Corvette in 1982

One Mid Year (C2)
Three Sharks (C3)
One "Aero Vette" (C4)
One Big Butt (C5)
what do you call a C6 ???

and . as far as i'm concerned, early C4's are a perfect balance of form and function...

i'm going to look so good cruzin' around in that thing, people might mistake me for a movie star -

Melting Slicks
Not that there's nothing wrong with a woody ... wait a minute ... my car has a wood interior and I don't like it. It is warping with age and they used double sided tape to put it on which has turned to some kind of hard substance that I'm sure won't come off short of acetone which would melt the dash.
I'm going to get rid of it if I can find a safe solvent to clean off the double sided tape.

I've always thought "Late Model" referred to any car of recent vintage....with no particular line in the sand of what defines "recent". 5 years maybe?
At any rate, up to about 2001, I can see a C4 being referred to as "late model".
