Default C4 a late model?

Before the C5 arrived does anyone remember the C4 being called a "Late Model".
There was straight axles, mid years, sharks and 84-96 were called late models.

Before the C4s came out, C3s were late models. When the C4 arrived C3s became sharks. I had a C3 at the time. First time I saw a C4, I knew I had to have one.

I remember the term "AERO VETTES" being used by those of us old guys who have been in this hobby for a long time before the C4s INTRODUCED...

But gosh up until the C4 was introduced there were only 3 generations and the C's were around 16 years before the introduction of the C4... A kid could have been old enough to get his drivers licence if he was born in 68 and and still buy the current generation Corvette in 1982

Not that there's nothing wrong with a woody ... wait a minute ... my car has a wood interior and I don't like it. It is warping with age and they used double sided tape to put it on which has turned to some kind of hard substance that I'm sure won't come off short of acetone which would melt the dash.

I'm going to get rid of it if I can find a safe solvent to clean off the double sided tape.

FWIW, i stripped the dulso off a 96 console bezel with the wife's "non-acetone nail polish remover" - worked like a champ and didn't harm the plastic base material. a bottle of this stuff is about $2.50 at your local CVS. it worked for me, but you may want to test it first...

I've always thought "Late Model" referred to any car of recent vintage....with no particular line in the sand of what defines "recent". 5 years maybe?

At any rate, up to about 2001, I can see a C4 being referred to as "late model".

A lot of C4s in trailer parks are late. Probably never get 'em down off those blocks.

I agree, that is one very nice early C4 vert! Early C4s in excellent condition and low miles are getting difficult to find, especially verts. The one in this picture is a great example and would be awesome to own!

Goo Gone or Goof Off should work.
