California Air Resource Board EO List
If you live in California, you live under the often-oppressive thumb of the Air Resource Board (CARB). Most of us wonder what CARB has approved for the C4 Corvettes and sometimes what we might be able to sneak by a nosey visual inspector with a similar EO number. Unfortunately CARB does not list EOs by vehicle, making it difficult to find the information you may be looking for. I haven't seen a list for C4s anywhere else, so I did the research, and I have a preliminary list.
Notes:
"92" TPI dates are intended for F-Body cars.
"96" is often omitted from the EO due to OBD2 integration for that year.
Part numbers are repeated when parts were sold under different mfgr. names.

D-396 11/16/1994 Summit Racing Twisted Wedge Cylinder Heads Cylinder Head TFS-31400003, 84-86 TPI
changing the heads on the '84 are a massive improvement over stock. The hot tip has always been get a set of '87 and paint them black for visual......but since there is a "CARB" approved set....I wonder if Summit would ever make them.

CARB/BAR sticker for engine swap
Im just wondering if you get the crate LS3 engine from GMMP and put 2011 smog equipment. Can I tell the state referee that its a 2011 and get a CARB/BAR sticker on the car?

Well...not practically. That's essentially what GM has done with the EROD series, collected together a set of components and worked with the CARB/BAR to have it tested and certified with an EO. I don't think that level of testing is within the scope of the referee's job function---he wants the smog values targets to already exist (the donor vehicle limits or EO values) and inspects to be sure they are met. If you collect components then you would have to work with the CARB to define the limits before the referee can do his thing. I'm no expert, but doubt this is practical for an individual.
