No heat.
My '84 isn't putting out any heat from the heater, just ambient temp. air. The controls each have resistance and do not seem to have become disconnected. Is there something besides the heater core that could be hanging up? How do you check a core; there are no leaks or smells inside the car.

Are the 2 hoses going to the core hot when the engine is hot and heater on "Hot" ?
Has a 84 got the vac operated isolation valve in the engine bay that shuts off the coolant flow ; it may to shut or not operating ?
The valve visible in from of the relay

Melting Slicks
It's not only the 84, my 87 had one that broke and couldn't find a replacement.
Found a shop that worked on Vettes and they replaced it with a different kind...that works.
Also, if your coolant is low, I found out that will stop the hot air from working.
