OK back on topic.
1. We need someone to donate a hood to make a mold.
2. Need to decide on 1 style. I think I will start a poll for this, seems like it will be best way to get a consensus.

This is my favorite hood, has vents and a rise to it, but not too much.

I think the silver C5 vented hood in the 3rd or 4th post of this thread is bad *** and would probably help shave just a little more weight. I would be interested in one by spring next year.

I would be in for a paintable hood if we are talking a style I like. I think that is the hardest part here.
No high rise for me. I have my opinions on it but I understand and aprpeciate why people want them.
I would love anything that has the stock form but with the vents.

I found out my manufacturer makes a C4 hood already and to give you an idea the retail is $899 in fiberglass. With that said I know for a fact that their carbon hood would probably be $1199-1299 retail in carbon, which means I could probably get them done under $1K in carbon, or very close. I know that sounds weird, but that is their retail not mine, im usually 20-25% under their retail cost. Im going to e-mail the owner of the company and ask what he thinks.
Here is a picture of the hood they make. This is not something that I was part of (lol in case you guy's don't like the look)
Reason I posted was just to show you that we can get it done for a decent price. I would expect with no cowl or a very small one and some vents I could keep the price in that ballpark.

Seems like anything under the price of a new GM hood (if they still exist) is reasonable. Last time I heard MANY years ago, was $1600. Now, I'd be surprised if was less than $2 grand.
That said, I'd vote for the high rise to be between the lower Toledo and the stock mid-section. Even if it was only 1", I think that's the height where people wouldn't feel it had turned in a racecar look. Plus, a second mold -- with taller hi-rise would be easier (less-difficult) to add as an alternative. (Toledo does this).
L89 and other positive or negative offset hood scoops are also interesting. Just keep them subtle. The C4 crowd is very reserved.

If I lower my car any more it will need flares (front & back) I've been looking for a non-stock hood (keep the original) that's vented.
Here's the flares I'm taking about.
Lets you lower the car with 335's on all 4

Here is an update as well. Manufacturing e-mailed me back and said they want to make a hood so they are on board (actually they said lets make 2) so let's pick 2 designs we like and go from there. They said just as I expected, retail on fiberglass is $1K and carbon $1500-2000. Again that is their retail not your cost here on the forum. I told them to try and keep the price around $1500 retail if they can. Usually they let me control pricing. Forum price would be around $1K even if retail is around $1500 in carbon, fiberglass would probably be in the $750 range. Keep in mind these are all estimates for now, but trust me, I will keep the price as low as possible.

I think the DRM style would look good on a C4, has a slight rise and heat extraction. Reminds me of the Callaway style.

I think the vents on the Mobil 1 car are ok, better than no vents, but don't compare to some of the other offerings shown. I want something clean, but a bit more different than stock. I would like maybe about a 1" rise in center, maybe extend cowl in center back just a bit toward windshield. Also I think the vent edges should rise up a bit above surface, not flat w hood.
My vote is:
1. DRM Heat Extactor style - see link above
2. ACP Heat Extractor style- see link above.
