custom gearshift ****
I have enjoyed owning a 1991 coupe. It has been 40 years since i last owned a Corvette. I also like to do a little woodworking on occasion. I just finished up a black walnut and white oak gearshift ****. Here is a picture:
I also did a 2 part YouTube video of the project that you may or may not enjoy viewing. It can be seen here:

Thanks!
Nice feedback! Glad you enjoyed watching it. Funny how boring woodworking had become until i found something that tied it all together. The vette did it!

combination of wood species
Mixing oak and walnut is a little off beat. I wish i had taken it to the next level. I could have cut 1/4" strips and glued them into slabs and turned them 90 degrees to each other and glued up the slabs. The result would have been a checkerboard pattern ****. That would have fit well with the Corvette motiff. Wish now that i had done it.
I still like it very well. It feels just like the original **** in my hand.

Thanks for the nice comments
Hard to justify all the time spent on that little project. But I had fun and your comments made it more worthwhile

Awesome job. Wish I had half the skill and/or patience to do that. The only issue I have with the entire video is that you should have played more of Money for Nothing at the end.
