How much weight savings are you looking at with this mod?

And how much easier is it to work on things under the hood after it's done?

Weight savings is around 5lbs. The true beauty is that you get rid of that extra mass of useless parts. Makes the engine bay look much nicer!

You do not need a kit for an 84 as already stated. Just remove all the stuff and install a goodyear 4060855 belt, that being an 85.5" belt. If you choose to remove the AC compressor too then you will need a dorman 34157 ac delete kit for 88-92 F bodies. Bolts right up and you need a Goodyear 4060872 belt which is 87.2 " . These belts are for use with the stock factory pulleys.

Yes I got one and it does not add 20 hp. It is worth it though. Cleans up the engine compartment and adds maybe 8-10hp

Now that I have gotten some more bugs sorted out on my car I might pick this up.

I'm going to drop the Frisbee and take care of a couple little things... but Mayish I might be picking one of these kits up.

Tired of rerouting the stupid smog pump every time I wanna work on something.

It even has the factory shocks

I've been fixing other stuff on it to get to the point where I'll actually be able to start doin what I want to it now. Left the Frisbee on mostly due to laziness. Now she needs moar ponies though, putting that F150 away today took more effort than it should have

I've got a 90 C4 and my AIR pump seems awfully loud! You really hear it next to other vehicles at traffic lights or on a bank drive thru (anywhere walls are close). Drving me nuts.... Anyway.. Does removing the pump/system do anything detremental to performace? I have heard both from mechanics. Some say taking the air pump off will make your L98 run like crap.... Others say it'll run fine (no Codes) and look a whole lot better under the hood.... Could it be an O2 sensor issue? Seems like the air pumps running on-and-off randomly. However, when I pump the throttle noise disappears for about 3sec... and back on she goes.... Anyone have the same "noise" issue? TBHonest I really wouldn't care if it wasn't so darn loud !

The AIR system is under open-loop control by the ECM so no codes upon deletion.

I put a 1985 kit on my 1984 to remove the air pump. It fit fine.

Did you remove the A/C condenser? did it help cooling?

thinking about ditching both.
