'94 Brake Master Cylinder - Shortage?
Hi all,
I am trying to find a replacement brake master cylinder for my '94, but NO ONE has them, reman or new. I've tried Napa, Advance, AutoZone, Pep Boys, Oreilly's, CarQuest, Eckler's, MidAmerica, GM dealers, RockAuto (they do show a Cardone rebuild service)...pretty much anyone I could think of. They all show no stock, and can't order it...they are just not available.
Some websites will let you get as far as adding one to your cart, and then when you try to check out, it says "there is an issue with the quantity requested". I just want one!
There are a few on eBay from part-outs, that are described as "in working condition", and may end up having to go that route.
Any suggestions?
TIA!

Well, RockAuto is now showing two options; a Centric and a Cardone, and the rebuild service is no longer showing up. It changed in the last hour.
I'll try them, but let me know if you know of another source.
Thanks again.

Fail
I placed an order for the Cardone unit from Rock, order was processed and payment went through. I just got a call from them; the item was erroneously displayed in the catalog and cannot be fulfilled. They're canceling the order and issuing a refund.
I tried to order the new Raybestos unit they're showing, and received this:
Same thing on the new Centric:

Maybe rebuild what you have. At $399 I'd rebuild if you can get the parts.

The reman service through RockAuto via A-1 Cardone seems like the way to go. $62 plus shipping, 3-5 day turn around.
Just gonna have to be patient this time around.
Thanks for looking.

I've just come up against the same problem with my '96. Nothing is available. How did the reman service from Rockauto work out for you? It looks like it's my only option.

Contact Joe Way at: brakecylinder@gmail.com
Joe owns Sierra Specialty Automotive; They re-sleeve Brake Masters, Clutch Masters, and Calipers with Brass Sleeves. This makes them FAR superior to the original and they should last for life.
I had them do my Brake Master for my Pantera.
Here's their link: http://www.brakecylinder.com/
I'd say they'd re-sleeve & rebuild for $150-175 or so.
Ask Joe to install a rebuild kit for you and it will come back ready to install after you bench bleed it.

I had mine rebuilt (master brake cylinder for 1996 vette) twice n still doesnt work (won't mention company). Finally found a website http://www.zip-corvette.com/ part # DB-752
When I ordered mine on 10/02/12 website said delivery could be as soon as 10/03/12 so i called the shop. The sales person said they are expecting delivery in the next 7-10 days but the website now says orders to be delivered by 12/31/1899. I am not sure what is going on and havent gotten a cancellation call. Here is Zip-covettes phone #
1-800-962-9632. Hopefully they have more and this helps some people out. I know its been a nightmare for me.
