New owner of first vette
Hello all, just bought a 1990 vert and love it. Couple questions Iam sure has already been answered a hundred times. First Iam torn between Corsa exhaust or borla, magnaflo. is Corsa worth the extra 4 to 5 hundred I've been pricing them at? I don't mind pay the extra if they make that much difference. Also was wondering about size of tires and rims. From what I've read on here Iam guessing I can go with 275/40-17 on front and as big as 315 on rear. Is this correct if so what size rim for the rear to fit a 315 tire? And will that affect the handing much or should I stay with 275 all around? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum... Need to post some pics.
As far as exhaust, I personally bought my Vette with Borla already installed. It sounds ok but not the way I'd like, one thing I'm missing is X-Pipe and Headders. But I've heard some Magnaflows and they've sounded nice and I've heard Corsa seem to sound louder than Borla I have. So it depends on sound you want and drone,,,, etc.. I think I may go Magnaflow and add XPipe. Tires look real nice with 315s in Rear, but you'll need your rims to be 11" wide.

I would go Corsa. It's what I want to put on mine. I currently have just Borla mufflers on mine and the drone is tolerable, but it's there.
Most guys put 315s on 17x11" wheels. It's what I have on mine. 315s look mean on the rear end, but the price per tire is kinda crazy and 275 prices are reasonable and more easy to find. I can't say if the handling is different because I bought the car with 315s on the car.

Exhaust note depends on what the owner likes. Pick the one you like.
You can see and listen to them on the tube .

I bought mine with Magnaflow with 3" stainless true dual system and there is definatly drone. I would go with corsa if i was in the market.

Sounds good, I think I'll bite the bullet and get corsa. Now Iam torn between black zo6 rims with rivets and chrome lip or all chrome. I gave a torch red vert with white top. Wish they were like shoes, could try on if ya don't like then send them back.

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your vert. Either one of those wheels would look good on your car so you can't go wrong there. I just put new wheels and tires (275 front & 315 rear with Nitto 555) on my car and handles much better than it did with the old tires and looks better to boot.

Yep...Corsa is your best choice if you can afford it. Corsa=no drone. As for wheels, if you have a Discount Tire in your area, they can order just about any wheel for you...and if you don't like them they usually will exchange for something else.

OE Wheels is where I got my wheels and tires. You just need to call and tell them what you want and they will mount the tires you want. It took two extra days for my order while they waited for the Nittos to be delivered so they could mount and ship them. They are good to work with and will help with any questions. To answer your question no spacers are needed.
