For that price I will sell you my 95 (2 years newer) and it only has 230,000 miles on it. And yes, it even wins the occassional car show, but I would rather be racing it.

If you WANT a C4 then it's worth the $$$$. My '94 has 8,080 miles and I would drive it cross country if I had to w/ no fear of doing so.

I love everything about my Vette (and the later C4 styling for that matter) and I would not regret paying the money they are asking if I was on the hunt for a '93.

For the haters saying it's too much. What would you pay for a 1975 Vette if you REALLY wanted a particular '75? $2,500, $4,000, $10,000 or $18,000? You know your financial situation so you make the call.

If the car makes you happy and it IS something you ALWAYS wanted buy it and don't look back because if you don't buy it someone else will.

'nuff said

I purchased my 1995 convertible with less than 6,000 miles three years ago. It has performed flawlessly, like a new car. I paid over 23,000 dollars. It would take that much to pry it from me today. Now it has 9,000 miles. That price the dealer is asking isn't to bad.

Sounds like a nice one.

Yellow is one of my favorite colors for a vette...they only made 517 yellow ones out of a total production of 21590 in '93. Manual trannys are
harder to find too.

From what I've seen of asking prices here in the Pacific Northwest (and I look at lots of ads) 14K would seem like a reasonable offer.

good luck

If it is worth it to you, then it is worth it. If everything checks out fine, buy it.

Well I just got back from the dealer and the only thing that might be wrong with it is a possible speaker issue...Car has all the pedigree drove awesome so I would think Im set...until I look up and someone just traded in a 2000 coupe...30K miles, 6speed, chrome wheels brand new Michelin tires, HUD, Adjust ride and also super clean
Magnetic Red Metalic...Blk Interior.

I drove both and wow talk about night and day....I was told the 2000 price would be in the teens being it had to be run thru the shop before determining a final asking price.

Talk about being confused !

$14K is fine if its mint. I have a 92 coupe with 13K on the clock never seen rain nor snow but as other fellows said here I take care of it, I start and move the car periodically when I was away for 1 year out of town I placed it on jacks and instructed my son to run the engine at least every 2 weeks. my garage floor is spotless never seen any leaks. these garage kings have 2 #1 enemies one is mice (they love to nest and chew wiring and interiors of vettes)and two, water condensation forming in the fuel tank if its not kept full and stabilized all the time. it will create rust, rot to the metal tank, deteriorate the fuel pump and clog injectors if not periodically cared for, all problems that may or may not show up down the line so, inspect it carefully,if the P O was an avid corvette man and took all these precautions you will have no problems at all. Chk the date of manufacture of the tires if over 5 years old point that out to the dealer as a safety issue, they'll be more willing to drop an xtra $1k off the price.

Good luck!

I think at 19 years old, age is more of a factor than mileage. Mileage in general would be more of a factor in evaluating the condition of a newer vehicle. On an older vehicle, it is difficult to determine condition by evaluating mileage alone, the aging of the plastics and rubber components (just look at all the rubber bushings in the suspension or all the rubber and plastic hoses and connectors and gaskets under the hood) is more of a factor than mileage. I have owned my 96 for six years, the good news is all the parts you will need are readily available, the 350ci LT1 was a common engine. Their asking price seems high, I have seen LT4s with low mileage advertised at that level.

There's a world a difference between the aluminum headed L98 and LT motors - most notably is that L98 head gaskets were weeping on a number of cars with as little as 25,000 miles and then completely blowing out somewhere around 50,000. The '91 had a redesigned 113 head and they don't show up around here with blown head gaskets as frequently as the '88 - '90, but for whatever reason, they still have the issue from time to time. These low mileage examples should be discounted - in fact I wouldn't even look at one. The improvement in quality on the '92 and up (save for the optispark) makes them the better choice and for the money they're asking, you should be able to find something better.

If your looking for comfort and gizmos and a DD or similar, especially if it will involve your wifey, driving the C5 would probly be a better choice. But if you want to DRIVE the car, enjoying weekend outings, choose the C4. Personally I have no problem using my C4 as a DD or taking a long trip. Just hafta pry me outa the car if I drive it more than a couple of hours.

I say get the dealer to knock off a couple of grand on the C4 and drive the snot out of it! Plus the folks here are nicer than the C5 folks!

31K isnt a total garage queen. The car has been driven probably during nice summer days.

If you like it, then have an inspection done and negotiate a good price.
I bought my 1994 vert last year with 678 miles on it. It was stored in a climate controlled storage but taken out several times per year for a ride around the block. All fluids changed yearly and even the air in the tires changed.
Basically, I bought a brand new 1994 and it even came with the new car smell. I have had to replace the battery and nothing else. I am now at 2,000 miles.

I fully agree with low mileage cars being GREAT if they have been maintained.
