'86 coming out of storage tomorrow
During the winter, I fixed the electronic climate control, put on new tires, cleaned the area between the condenser and radiator and detailed the interior. Full insurance coverage goes on tomorrow. Up here in the northern tundra we still get snow in April so I had to wait.
Bought it new and have enjoyed each of the 26 years I have had it. I know it does not have all the refinements of the later C4s but it still looks and runs great.
When I think of what I paid for it back in the fall of 1985 and what it is worth now, it gives me pause, but it is worth far more to me than the going market price anyway.

Years ago I had a boss who would hammer me on my head and say:"Did you do it right?". Took me years to understand "do it right". You sir have "done it right" that is exactly what your Corvette was built for.

Brian: My 1986 was also my first Corvette. I later bought two C1s, a 1961 (see avatar), and a 1957. The difference in the generations is dramatic. It is hard to realize that GM made both. For interstate long distance driving, I will take the '86 any day. But for sheer enjoyment and a trip back in time the C1s take it. They are relatively simple to work on and parts are still readily available.

It's so rare for someone to keep a car for so many years and that says alot about how much you love your 86. Sounds like your 86 has some nice company in the garage. I hope the weather is nice and you have a great time on the first cruise of the year.
