Tune up with E3 Spark Plugs
I have had my C4 for a month now and have been slowly working out the bugs. When I purchased it from the dealer it ran ok but I felt it was sort of sluggest. I have a Jaguar which was faster and had more punch. I changed the oil and added ZMAX engine with the Royal Purple 10w-30 motor oil. I Changed the wires, cap and rotor with MSD parts, I also changed the AC spark plugs with E3 plugs. Well I took it for a drive and wow what a difference. I punch it and the tires smoked and the rear fish tailed, gas milege jumped up to 27 mpg average. I have not put the Vortex Ram Air kit in the car yet but will do it by next week. the vette is giving the Jag a run for the money now. Those E3 plugs really make a difference!!!!!

I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. All a spark plug does is create a arc to ignite the fuel and air mixture. Performance plugs are a waste of money.

Well you know the old saying, opinions are like A--holes everybody has one. You can shout yours on your Bridge in Brooklyn! I am not selling or promoting these products, I tried them and they worked for me if you choose not to use or purchase them don't!!!!

Yea ive got to agree with the op here... if your car is running perfect and smooth adding an advanced plug and coil doesnt do much. Thats what has been the case with my current 89. However my 87 i had a while back was totally different. Had rough idle (no skips) when i switched to a high grade plug and new wires and hypertech coil it was massive difference. Smoothed out, car responded better, just really overall very pleasing feeling.
I think a really awesome ignition can cover up carbon deposit issues along with other things.

Yeah, well opinions are one thing, proof is another, and without proof all you have is an opinion, and an A-hole (And TROLLs have a pair of them!)
Let's see now... "I Changed the wires, cap and rotor with MSD parts, I also changed the AC spark plugs with E3 plugs."
Oh, yeah... All that new stuff...couldn't be anything BUT those spark plugs, I recon! That's some real scientific test results right there, boy-yo-boy! As long as opinions are golden (and science is not), be sure to getcha one of these while your at it!
I vote "TROLL" thread.

spark plugs, like wax, oil, and microfiber towels - 90% hype, 10% fact...

Burning Brakes
Let's just say it was probably a combination of all the changes that resulted in the improved performance and be happy the OP now has a better running Vette. I'm sure switching to the MSD stuff and replacing plugs with a fresher set of stock plugs would have given the same outcome. Oil and plugs I always go with the stock stuff as that is what the engineers designed the car for.

They dyno tested a ls engine on horsepower tv and showed side by side comparison results that were definatively better. They were showing cooler ign temps, decreased nx levels, increased power etc.
The burn front has everything to do with power. A faster and more complete ignition can mean a power gain. If its just a spark why would you bother with msd all you need is one to ignite it right? The e3 have a really different size and shape spark that has been proven by tests by 3rd parties.
Im not saying they are worth the extra price but if you are one of those every bit counts guys, why not go with something that is proven?
I do agree that the plugs were not the only factor but its a cog in the system, every cog plays its part.

Interesting fact here. I buy the cheap ones from eBay. Way cheaper than anyone else.
There was one dude that bought towels on ebay and put them for sale here at 200% mark up.
Royal Purple may be purple and perhaps the most expensive oil, but out of many oil analysis it always comes after Amsoil, Mobil 1, Lucas and few other oils. I call it the "Car Show Oil".

To the OP: Glad you got your car running well but read a little bit here before you try some of the products that have outrageous claims for adding horsepower. And dont believe the manufacturers website for your decisions. Most likely you can spend your money on items that can improve your car's performance or beauty in a better way.
