How do I get more legroom in a C4?
I want a C4, but I sat in one yesterday, and with the seat all the back my knees have too much bend to be comfortable. I kinda felt like a go-kart.
Has anyone had any luck with moving the seat back.... or even modifying the pedals or the ?firewall to get more leg room?
I don't mind the fab work......but there are certain things you can't cut into.
I have a C6, and with the seat all the back I can straighten my legs completely, sliding my feet under the pedals.....but NO WAY in that C4......no issue in my C5 either.

Speedmon ..
You mentioned it sat more like a go cart. That is how I explain to people how it handles.
It is sort of like a go-cart in a lot of ways.
As to leg room. About all you can do is move the seats back a little. They aren't designed to be driven by anyone tall or who has really long legs.

I guess you'd be better off with your C6 and forget about the C4. Not much room for modifications in the seating area of the C4.

Try sitting in a C3. After that a C4 will feel roomy.
I had a '71, followed by a '78. At 6'2" they got REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE on long trips and the floorboards got REALLY HOT.
The C4 is my daily driver. Perfect for around town stuff.
I can barely touch the firewall with my toe in the C5. That's why I take it when I'm going on long trips.

It was an 87...(are the C4s different from year to year?) ...with the seat back against the bulkhead and my foot on the pedal, my knee was almost at a 45% angle and pinned just above the right corner of the console.....not very comfortable.
There is only about an inch to extend the front footwell before structure. Which leaves the bulkhead behind the seat. That bulkhead looks structural, but I could notch a cavity into it. I need to see if there is anything behind it....on the C5 its the gas tanks...hopefully not the same.
Does anybody know what is behind that bulkhead?

You don't mention how tall you are, but I would recommend you try a later model C4. I have a '96 with the sport seats, and at 6'4"/250 pounds I find it to be comfortable. I tilt the front of the seat all the way up and drop the rear down giving me good support for my upper legs. I've taken it to BG numerous times and to Key West once, and the only problems I had was getting out of the car. Still have that problem, but at 65 YO I have an excuse now.

6'2" here, and no comfort issues with my 96. as a matter if fact, no issues with my 85, and my 90 either. i have noticed that power seats seem to have more "adjustable" room than their non-power counterparts.
