Default Arm rest in 1993 Ruby Red 40th Aniv.?

I looked at a 1993 40th Aniv ruby red convertible today. The driver door had a black arm rest, but the passenger door had a ruby red arm rest. The passenger arm rest connected to a black piece at the top front of the door panel.

Is this OEM?

Straight from the factory. I only surmise that is because the window buttons and door lock button are in the black area. Less finger prints I guess :seeya

I believe all of the late C4's have the black drivers-side armrest, regardless of the interior color.

I have black interior. Of course, both armrests are black but the drivers-side armrest is made of a different grain of vinyl. It is a smoother grain, where the passenger side is more of a leather grain, like the top of the dash.

My guess is that the driver's side is made of a stronger grade of plastic to be more durable.

Thanks guys.

I thought is probably was OEM, but I had to make sure.

I'm buying it tomorrow if I can get a good carfax.

Cool! We have 4 Ruby convertibles from the midcities here on the forum! That's amazing that you'll have another here in DFW! Since there are only about 2000 of them, that's a lot to have in one place. BTW there's also one in Burleson but I've never talked to the owner. I'm also told there's one in N Dallas that has a woman passenger that's sometimes mistaken for me at a glance. Not me, I'm NEVER the passenger

GM did this to give a cockpit feel to the driver's seat :yesnod:

:yesnod: YUP, it seems odd but when you are sitting in the drivers seat you are completely wrapped in the cockpit.
