being jerked around by H*****y on insurance
has anyone else encountered this or was I the lucky one ? I sat for 5 days after initiating a policy on my new 89 C4 and still no ins coverage , and no it wasnt due to driving record no tickies in 7+ yrs , last insurance claim was 8 yrs ago and it was a deer hit you know Ohio ....... I guess I learned my lesson dont believe advertising its not what we hear its what we experience ......... my insurance is gonna be 50% less than H*****y due to flexability , a lesser rate and no mileage limitations . Oh well live and learn ......

If ya have a daily driver [Beater?} and a Garage,,,, Try American Collectors insurance in Cherry Hill NJ. My 1991 C4 costs me $180 a year to insure. Agreed total loss payout is $12000. I can drive it 5000 miles a year. Very happy with them.

I have them as well. I have 3 collector cars on my policy (1990 Corvette Conv, 1987 Cad Allante'Conv and 1975 Cad Eldorado Conv) and my rate is right at $300 per year. Although there is a 5,000 mile restriction, nobody ever checks it. There are other restrictions, but easy to get around.

Looked at Hagarty, NCM, and tho the pricing was not bad, the restrictions were not going to fit.
I went with Classic Collectors with a agreed upon value of $21k for the ZR-1 and a 6000 mile annual limit, including towing.
Prices vary by area, and IL is not cheap, and neither is the additional horsepower. All said and done, mine is $475 annually incuding towing coverage. Nice people to deal with. But, I'm up for renewal, and I might give American Collectors insurance in Cherry Hill NJ a call and do some research on their customer recommendations.

Yep. I have had them for 3 years and they have never asked my mileage at renewal. They require you to have a locked garage. You aren't supposed to use it as a "second" car, ie. to drive to work because your primary is in the shop, etc. But if something ever happened while you were driving it as a "second" car, you could always say you were going to have the car serviced, oil changed, etc.

One of these days, I'm going to relieve you of one of these garage dwellers....and you know which one. (yeah, I know, I keep threatening to do that and never follow through)

Farmers Insurance charges us $200 a year for the Corvette (1987 convertible). We have everything with Farmers....house, 2011 Escape, and a libability umbrella.
What is great is that AZ only charge $54 for licensing last year; well, she is old Much better than the 2003 Expedition + Airstream TT.

In my case, NCM was little higher, but the eased restrictions fit my use of the car much better. And you won't find an easier agent to work with.

Interesting... I knew IL was high, but apparently the "corruption tax", as we taxpayer have come to expect, has gotten lately.
