Now these kind of things are just terrible from my point of view... The hatch conversions of the C3 i really kind of like though. Might be a European thing, I don't know really. Over here we love the idea of a fast car designed to travel far distances with just two people and still room for luggage. That's where the image of the GT (Grand Tourer) came from.
Several companies in England made conversions of the Jaguar XJ and other cars, very similar to that C3 in the late 70s and early 80s(probably influenced by these C3 conversions, since these are well known in Europe)
Doubt that many owners would actually pack many suitcases in the back of a car like that though, since it would look redicilous, but the whole attraction is the possibility of being able to, I believe...

Dang, that thing is ugly...
I could make it look good in my eyes though, and get rid of the wood at the same time... Would need a whole lot of cash to have someone do the work though...

I took these pics at a Car Show in Vero Beach, Fla this Summer. The car was made from a C5 Corvette (I'm pretty sure, or maybe a C6). A kit to turn a Corvette into a '57 Chevy Bellaire (Front) and '59 Impala (Rear):

A True "Car Guy" appreciates all cars and see them as works of Automotive Art. I even like seeing Gremlins, Pacers & Nash's at car shows - Fond Memories of times gone by. I love my Vette and I am the type to keep it as close to original as possible (with a few upgrades), but I don't think that there is some Sacrelige to someone exercising their imagination and being creative. And honestly, can you think of a Cheaper Platform to start with than a C4 Corvette. You can start out with quite a bit of performance for very little investment. Just Keepin' it Real.....

Although the car above does look like a Stutz raped an Eldorado while drunk on Schlitz Malt Liquor

Personally, I kinda dig all the C1, 3 & 4 versions (minus fake wood) posted so far.
It would make hauling my son's hockey gear around a whole lot easier - especially if we're not going to get any snow this winter.

Look at where the guy who built it located the header exhaust. Do you think he included a carbon monoxide detector in the dash?

Perhaps the second proud owner installed one after the premature demise of the builder.
