It would stall occasionally when I first took delivery & Borrelli's addressed this in their tune. I'm hoping it's just a minor re-learn after having the battery disconnected for the TCU swap.

No more stalls, but the rpm's occasionally dip while coasting to a stop...perhaps when I apply the brake. I've seen it dip to 300 or 400 rpm before something kicks in and gooses the throttle.

Is the torque converter unlocking, too late maybe ?

That seems likely. There is an optional brake disconnect wire which the shop tied, ostensively, to the 3rd brake light connection on the brake pedal. (Prior experience attempting to tie the cruise control brake disconnect to the same place casts doubt on this particular connection, though. )

I talked with my GM/EROD contact & he talked with the TCU team & the consensus is they recommend not using this feature, and suggest disconnecting it as a diagnostic at the very least.

I'm going to try having it disconnected Friday and see what happens.

The GenIV PCM with DBW is very good at idle control and stall saver once it's learned. Getting the TC unlocked should fix things so it won't need as much control.

Had the optional torque converter brake disconnect signal removed this morning. It stalled again during a long coast to a stop about 4 miles later. Engine was warmed up.

I'm guessing I'll need to go back to Borelli's and update the tune. Still no codes, so I'm thinking of getting the smog check taken care of first.

'course it won't actually start...

They had to jump it several times at the inspection, but passed it. I stopped at my mechanics on the way back and they found the battery ground post loose. Started right up after they tightened it up so I stopped at the AAA to get my sticker and drove it to work.

Tried to move it an hour ago and it's dead again!?!?!?! A friend tried to jump it but couldn't get enough juice through the cables to crank it over.

I'm gonna call the AAA later and take it to the last shop to work on it to double check they didn't miss something.

Thanks everyone.

I think the starting issue is sorted out: The threads on the battery ground bolt were stripped, along with the threads in the battery itself. It could be tightened a little, but would vibrate loose while driving. Got a new battery and am back on the road.

College is covered...just a little less coin left when I check out.

'course I may regret this if I find myself living on cat food in 10 or 20 years, but sometimes you just gotta have a little fun, eh?
