try holding down the door button on the fob until the locks cycle, it will first unlock the drivers door and then if you hold it longer, it will unlock the passenger side.

I have to ask what you mean by "my fob does not lock or unlock the doors"?

The C4 PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) system is unlike any other FOB.
The door button on the FOB will never lock the doors, and as you have discovered will only unlock the passenger door.

Passive means, there is no action required on your part. As you walk away from the car, the doors will lock. As you walk back up to the car, the drivers door (or both doors depending on how you've set it) will unlock.

If that is not what is happening now, it's possible the system is turned off. In that case, do as GreyGhost mentioned and hold down the door button while standing next to the drivers door.
After a few seconds you should hear the locks cycle. If the system was off, it will now be on. If it was on, this will shut the system off.

The system is explained pretty well in the owners manual.

Please read Rollas post carefully. The fob button still does not open the drivers door. It never will. The door is now unlocking because you have turned the PKE function "on". You can also set the car to unlock both drivers and pass. doors passively. The fob button will never lock the doors, only walking away will.
