Re: Has onyone used zymol wax? (n1kki6)
I use it. I think it's great. It goes on easy and comes of unbelievably hard, but it's the best shine I've ever gotten. A while back somebody posted a link to an NSX owner that did a comparison of a pile of different waxes. His results put the Zaino on top, with the inexpensive Zymol a very, very close 2nd, then some other stuff including the expensive zymol trailing distantly.

Funny you asked, I ran out of Zaino a few weeks back and bought a $15 bottle of Zymol from the hardware store.
I read the instructions, but couldn't help but notice the stuff went on WAY TOO THICK. So, I dampened my applicator pad, then was able to do the whole car (apply and take off) really quick.
Even after buffing it out with a water spray bottle and a nice towel, it still had some streaky parts.... so I used some Meguiars quick detail spray and that helped quite a bit.
Shine was great, but it lasted until I washed the car the next day. I also used it on the wheels, and it made them look great!
What I didn't like is that it filled all my MINOR rock chips with white powder residue.
So, now that I have Zaino again, I am going to dawn the car, wipe it down with prep-sol, and clay bar and re-Zaino.
Zymol is nice while in a pinch, but Zaino's durability, and easy on/off and no streaking, is worth a million dollars to me.
I'll use it on the Land Rover, to not waste the Zaino!
Have fun!

the zymol you bought for $15.00 is not the good stuff. the real zymol is at zymol.com and cost $50 00. i have used it for years. it was the only thing i would use. it would last longer than anything i found. the problem was it took several hours to wax the car, no kidding it took all day. i tried zaino car polish a couple of months ago and i love it. i heard everybody on here talking about it so i bought some. i like the zaino shine better than the zymol and it takes an hour to do the whole car. you put zaino on by the layer. the vette has 6 coats on it, the avalanche has 1, the trans am has 2, and the black car hauler has 1 coat. so far i like the zaino. the first time i showed the vette with zaino i won best paint...its more the paint than the polish but i like it. http://www.zainobros.com/

Like i said above, the cheap Zymol seems to be a better product than the expensive crap.
As for the streaking.... you'll never get rid of it wiping. Follow the directions and hose it off with cold water, then chammois it. No more streaks.

I had been using ZYMOL (the expensive stuff) for two years until recently I opened the jar and there was a thick layer of mold. :U I contacted the website and they immediately sent me out another jar. Last week the same thing happened to the new jar which was barely used. :mad I guess all those natural ingredients (beeswax, coconut oil, etc.) need to be refridgerated with my wifes Yoplait Yogurt and cottage cheese. Although I have not tried Zaino, I have had great success using a PC 7336 and some great products recommened on the AUTOPIA website.

I used zymol for a couple of months years ago. It never lasted, it seems when you wash your car all the wax came off.
Since then I'm using zaino, and love it. Best shine ever, and it lasts. Also very easy to use.

Many people prefer to refrigerate the higher end Zymol waxes, they seem rather finicky to work with. On another note, I have purchased Connolly Hide Food and have found that it best suited for the refrigerator when not in use.
I'd also like to point out that the consumer grade of Zymol products (those found in Wal-Mart, AutoZone, etc) are actually maufactured by Turtle Wax. Not that that makes them inherently bad, but the quality of the products may not be up to par with what someone is expecting.

I did not intend to knock ZYMOL since I had always been a major supporter of the product until this repeated episode. Their product support team was super and immediately sent me a new jar of ZYMOL cream without question. If you had not turned me on to the AUTOPIA website I would never had discovered the PC, 3M SMR and the great, unbiased posts of waxers and detailers like ourselves. I would really like to thank you for introducing me to AUTOPIA and CMA and the outstanding products other than the other Z and how to properly use them. I hope to catch up with you and your RUBIES so they can meet one of their relatives

I have used both and I find Zaino to last much longer (many washes) and shine better...but that's just me.

You are quite welcome. :yesnod: I'm glad that you took me up on that advice and that you have found the Autopia site to be resourceful - it's a great site. :)
