Default questions

Okay i have some questions for me/my dad. He has a 93 black vette convertible, M6. Just a few basic mods, flowmaster, chip,kn filter and lid. (not on yet). What gears does he have in it? He is thinking about switchin gears. Should he get 4:10's since its a manual? I read that if you have like 342's in the LS1, and a m6, and if you switch to the 410's you only lose 1mpg. Thats not bad.I think i am going to try to talk him into trading/selling his car for a newer Z28, with a LS1. Maybe even a new one. It said it's worth like 15k, but they go for like 18 around here. Plus there is all those incentives like the camaro legends tour 2k off, and everything else, plus my dad can strike deal like no other. His old truck, he actually got that under dealer cost, and it was only on the lot for like a month! Plus some extra stuff on it, it was sweet. He has taken classes on how to do this. He has had 8 diffrent vettes, never a Fbody. I am a HUGE fbody fan. I want him to get one, so i can drive it or we can kinda share it, cause i can put some money up towards the purchase.

How much sweeter would it be? How much more do you think he would like it? How hard is it to get in and out of? How tall can you be? What's the best you think he can trade it up for if he sells it for about 18k. It has 36k miles. Its in great shape. If he doesn't sell it, do you think the next mod should be headers? or gears?is the Ls1 really fun to drive?More fun than the lt1? Most of these questions are fbody questions, but i didn't want to post them there. So i posted them here :) Thanks in advance :)

Oh http://www.gm-cars.com , check it out its pretty sweet, new, were getting it goin, register and start postin, especially in the vette forums, and get it goin :) :chevy

4.10 gears in a six speed vette is the ticket. With 6th gear you won't lose much on the highway.

While I like the F- body cars, I would never trade one of my vettes for one.

I was going to buy a 2002 Z28 just for racing, but convinced myself to buy another vette instead.
I still may buy a Z28 or even an SS now that I have the 2nd vette, but it will be an addition, not a replacement.

$18k for a 93 vert may be a little on the steep side.
I bought my '93 coupe with 36k miles and paid $15,500, so add another $1500 for the 'vert and you get $17k, now that I think about it, maybe $18k isn't so bad.

After having an Fbody and now a vette... I would not get another one unless it was for a specific purpose like racing since parts and parts cars are so abundant and cheap.

just my $0.02

I wish my dad would let me drive it. I have never driven a stick, but know how. I just need a little experience, and have no car to learn on. I wish he could teach me enough with the car off, and let me take it around the block, and then more etc. I wanna drive that thing SOOOOOOOOO BAAADDDD! I wouldn't even go fast in it i would just cruise :) I can't really afford to buy a cheap manual beater, im savin for a car, and need everypenny i find. So basically im never gonna get to drive it. I only get to ride in it like 1nce every 2 months, if that. :( I love that car. :)

thanks, sounds like 4:10's are the way to go!So you only loose like 1 mpg due to the 6th gear? Thats pretty cool! How much do you loose of the top speed? My dad or I would never go that fast, he has had it up to 115 and thats it. Never up to 150 or anything, i just want to know.

My dad has a 1993 Corvette with a six speed as i said, It have stock rearend gears. I would like to know if he switched to 410 gears, what would happen to his RPM?I know it would go up, but how much? I know it depends somewhat ont the gearing and the tranny he wants to know what would rpm change is at diffrent MPH increments through every gear. And how do you know this also?

I think its funny, whenever i mention somthing said by someone on the internet, that is really knowledgable, he's like, most people , just talk bs to sound cool. He has never been on the internet.lol. he doesn't really know what the messageboard atmosphere is, that if you BS, it is called very quickly, and you look like a fool.
