Default Afternoon cruise with a C-3 and C-4

Incredible weather, met up with a friend who has a very sharp '79, and spent the afternoon in search of good photo locations. I won't dupe the whole story here, but I'll post one pic and a link to the rest in C-3 general. A great day to put miles on the car! A few days like this give us something positive to look back on once the cover goes on and the car hibernates.

Based on the other pictures it looks like you have a great day. One reason I love my Corvette is that with my wife's back problems she can actually enjoy these kind of rides again. We used to do motorcycle rides, but they got too much for her. Now I just drop the top on the '96 and we actually enjoy the ride much more.

Great shots. I wonder what went through the head of someone living on the dirt road seeing 2 Corvettes going by.

Funny you should say that, as I did see people at a couple houses stop and stare as we went by. It was a fairly large dirt road, not a narrow one, and in most places sort of smooth, but whenever we thought we could pick up a little speed there would be some washboard and we'd have to swerve or slow down a bit. At a couple points it did seem like the road was going to die out, and a couple of the places we passed I thought I heard banjos, a la Deliverance!

Turns out this road runs along the ridge on the west side of Hemlock Lake, a long narrow Finger Lake. When the road finally dropped down the hill we had a mile or two of pretty good grade. I found I could not get the car (auto trans) into first because the shifter boot is so old and stiff! Kept messing with it and finally got into low but we were almost done with the downgrade by then. Another little project - replace the boot!
