Default New C4 Owner - 1985 With 21,000 miles.

Hey guys, Just picked up an 85' Vette with 21,000 Original miles. Black w/ charcoal interior. 4+3 Manual, Z51, Bose. Working on getting it running, that car sat for 15 years. Needs a few things, but overall a very nice car. Interior is in excellent shape.

The first picture is how it sat since the mid 90's.

The second picture is after we got it unloaded and started power washing it. I'll get some more pictures of the car tonight.

I like the jack stands that were used.

Be sure to change all of the fluids since the car has been sitting so long.

Those are 1990 wheels you have. I also cringe when I watch any one pressure wash a Vette, hope you were careful. Can't wait to see the before and after pics

Interesting, You solved the first problem already when you put wheels and tires on it. Put a battery in it and see what powers up. Check engine oil quantity, check the fuel tank, see what is living there, clean, add fuel and hit the starter. With luck she should come alive.

Same here, a little more dangerous the way they were used here though, at least lay the wheels on their side.

Nice find! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick her up for.

With 21K miles on it you really can't go too wrong.

Jack stands were definately interesting but we've definately seen worse. I would DEFINATELY do a through swap of all fluids and I would do it multiple times over the next year or so. Who knows what remains of that oil

Let us know how those fluids come out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'll be looking forward to the interior pics soon.

Yeah, I borrowed some 89' wheels from a friend for now. I have went through the car with fuel, fuel filter, new pump, plugs, cap + rotor, Belt, Battery, Put the exhaust back on it with new pace setter mufflers. We had to pull the manifolds to replace the broken off studs to bolt the y-pipe back on. That went very smooth. Put new fel-pro manifold gaskets on also. Oil in the engine is pretty clean, I am going to change it. Engine is very very clean along with the coolant and throttle body and air filter look new. All the electrical works great. I need one window switch and new bulbs for the gauges. They look to be working just not lit up. Hope to fire it up tonight. I plan on running new chrome Zr1 wheels and tires. I have the original wheels and tires also in excellent condition. He took the tires off the rims back then and had the wheels high polished. The tires look almost brand new. I believe they are the original tires. I am going to mount them back up and just keep them because they are original.

And use cinder blocks as backup.

That first picture gave me a fright...then I scrolled down & all was fine.

Congrats on the low mileage, though it's a shame it's just been sitting. Let us know how it progresses.

All the fluids looked excellent. I thought otherwise before. And I piad $4250.00 for the car. 1985 Z51, Bose, 4+3.

Yes the car sitting on old rally wheels and block was sketchy. haha

Not bad for a low mile car that just needed a little attention. That's what the 100K + cars go for. Ya did good.

Haha, no way! Just keeping them because they are in good shape and the originals. I'm not sure what the tires are worth, probably nothing. Maybe to someone that wanted them for show to be original?
