From the front bumper back to the front doors....same car (on the outside). The front doors flare out more and by the time you get to the rear bumber the entire car is 4 or 5 inches wider. Also little tag on rear bumper and front fenders "ZR-1"
Try the ZR-1 page

Re: C4 or ZR1 (GSTspeedracer)
The ZR1 has a 4" wider rear end than a normal C4. The body flares from the front of the door all the way back. Other things to look for are 11" wide wheels, 315/35-17s, an 8,000 rpm tach, 6 speed, full power key below the stereo. There will also be sport seats. Also, the exhaust tips are different than a normal C4.
If you are trying to decide which one to buy....this C4 is the top dog... :yesnod:

Re: C4 or ZR1 (GSTspeedracer)
The 1990 ZR-1 has the updated rear bumper with the square front bumper and a third brake light also has 11" in the rear and of course the badging. 91 and up have the third brake light but updated the front fascia still have the 11" in the rear. Rear quaters flare out a bit more to cover the extra inches looks a little wider then the stock vettes.

Always and excuse to post a pic of my car.... :D Oh, and the entire rocker panel assembly is different than a regular C4. Notice the no-brake-light-in-the-bumper, but on top....the space between the license plate and the reverse lights.

Check this picture, big pic so here is the link: http://biz.digicat.org/Pics/PuntaGor...4_13_02_28.jpg
That is my ZR-1 parked next to Springer's95 95 coupe. You can see the difference between the rears of the cars. The ZR-1 starts getting wider in the doors and then on back. To a total of 3 inches wider. The 11" rear rims fit easily under the car. All ZR-1s have the third brake light mounted above the hatch glass. The lower rocker panels are also different. They have a curve to them and standard are pretty flat. As for the windshield. It looks like this:

The way I most easily tell is the width of the lower rear body panel. Check out VetteBabe's booty! ZR-1's got BACK!

?
C4 will whip your GST by 10 cars lengths
ZR-1 will whip your GST by 15 car lengths
Any questions?

Re: C4 or ZR1 (GSTspeedracer)
This brings up something that I've been looking for but haven't found in the archives here. Anyone know where to find a pictorial summary of clues to the different years/models of C4's? If not, sounds like a good project for a forum homepage. Everyone could send pics of the identifying marks for each year/option of the C4 and someone could put it together. Yes? No? Maybe? Anyone looking for a little HTML project?

Because 90% of the C4's will toast you regardless if it is an L98, LT1, LT4 or LT5
Oh wait, this is the cheeseball who has video's on his website where he thinks he is racing a C4. Only problem is that the people in the C4 were laughing at him

I came to ask a simple question, but you couldn't help yourself!
Your not asking so that you can pick your battles when racing are you????

True arrogance in it's purist form. SO, enlighten me, why would I bother to pick my battles if 90% will just toast me anyway, what would be the point of learning about the differences of C4's if ALL of them would beat me anyway, even in a chosen race?
Wanderer
C4 will whip your GST by 10 cars lengths
ZR-1 will whip your GST by 15 car lengths
I thought the distances would have been much greater than that, at least a couple ten or twenty BUS LENGTHS. Cute insults though!
