Take a cruise for me!
Havent posted in a wile but I have been lurking. Back about 4 months ago right after getting my 84' back on the road and dumping $600 into rear suspension, brakes, tires ect....I took the girlfriend for now only her 3rd ride in the car and just as the car hit 70mph getting on the on the highway clunk the trans bit the bullet at 124k!
Had the old pick up at back to the bricks last night and with every C4 I saw i missed my car more and more. At the moment funds just don't support the new transmission. The hope is for it to be back on the road around spring time. To those of you out there with a functioning car...take her for a spin for me!

That sucks man! I will certainly take a cruise for ya- only had my car 3 weeks now (93 in Dark Rose Mettalic), but so far I have put 1100 miles on her. :-)
Got a brake in the rear that is starting to make a noise so I am taking that apart tonight-
mine has 85K on it now, hope to put at least that many more on it!
Cheers!

That does suck man. I put about 300 on our '84 in the last week for ya!
I TRIED to get the tires balanced, but when we cleaned up, after putting the new carpet in, we forgot to put the wheel lock adapter back in the car! Guess I'll hafta try again next week.

Thanks guys! Wow 1100 miles in 3 weeks, really using that car the way it was intended!
Ive had the car since I was 16 and ever since its been nothing but a basket case of problems every time I turn a corner. Yet I wouldn't trade it for a new one if someone offered.
Its just one more part towards a restoration!
Plan is to get the old girl in shape for Corvette homecoming this coming year!

Look at it this way - each thing you rebuild is one thing that (most likely) WON'T break for years to come. It can be frustrating but be patient, take your time and enjoy the miles you DO get to drive it.
Get a coffee can and each day throw your spare change in. Heck, put the dollar bills into that can instead of the local girlie bar! Hope you get it back on the road soon.

Thats how I see it! Just one less thing to worry about breaking late!
As upset as I may get the second a turn the key nothing else matters. She always knows how to cheer me up...or maybe its the torque that does that. haha
