Jealous People
Hey everyone. Well, last night I went to Walmart to buy my 6 year old son some school supplies. I decided to take my 96 coupe out to go there because I rarely drive it. I always park my car away from the other cars in parking lots so no one can ding my door with there's. I came back to my car after shopping to find that someone used there key to scratch my door from one end to the other. I don't know why people do that especially since I took care in parking away from the other car. Sometimes people do stupid things just because they think it's fun. My car is 15 years old so there are some chips of paint missing from the body but it isn't too bad but now the scratch is really noticeable. Stupid people do stupid things.

It's not anyone who drives a car. It's the people who walk to Walmart. If you watch the lot for a while you can see them come and go. Your car just stood out in the lot all by itself.
They are jealous and have nothing better to do. Don’t know if their security cameras would tell anything worthwhile, long long shot.

Absolutely terrible story. Sorry to hear that happened to you. Some people are just jerks, plain and simple.
I'd be curious to know how many others around here have had a similar thing happen to them.
Anyone?

Walmart just seems to attract the lowest forms of life. They actually allow camper trailers to stay in their parking lots overnight just so they can get possible sales from them in the morning. There is a funny website with some pictures of the typical customers found there. We all go there once in a while, but some of these characters basically live there. Sorry about your scratch though, but maybe as someone else mentioned, a security camera there may have caught it on tape.

I think parking out by yourself away from other cars is the wrong thing to do. Yeah, it may save you from a door ding, but it attracts creatures who will come and key your car for no other reason than they think you're trying to protect it by parking it away from other cars.

driving mine less
I bought my 95 in March and drove it everywhere. Then the thought hit me, What the heck am I doing!!! Driving it to Walmart or Menards is just asking for trouble. It's a shame that we all have to drive our cars less instead of more, as we would like to, because of all the ignorant people there are out there. Sorry to hear about your insident.

Let me reiterate.
I don't post often, but as I have said before on this very forum, NEVER go to Walmart with any vehicle you care about. Do not even drive near Walmart. You are asking for an illegal to back into your car or some other person of high morals to damage and disrespect your person or property. Walmart is a haven for the LCD (lowest common denominator) of human trash. I'm sorry this happened to your car. It could happen anywhere. Every third person you meet is an idiot or scum or both - and I have statistics to prove this. Just a thought to ease your pain. Imagine you walk up behind the azz keying your car. In your hand you have a 36 Louisville Slugger. Use your imagination for the rest, but the ending always has the bat breaking right across the trademark.

Did you call the cops? Of course they might try to say its a civil matter - but IMO it's a criminal act. Did you tell the management and tell them that overwriting the video tape is destruction of evidence? I'll bet they got the perp on tape!
Park up front. Close to the lights, camera, action.
God, I'd be so pissed. And, it isn't going to get better as long ad the "give me my free sh.." mentality is catered to.

No point in looking at the tape. This is what the person looks like: greasy string brown hair half way down the back, out of date glasses, triple X large pink sweat pants that are skin tight, cheap Wallace sneakers and a t-shirt that says **** happens and from the back she has a large shelf above her backside. She doesn't drive a car but pushes a Walmart cart home. She thinks it's her exboyfriends vette he bought new then dumped her fat a$$ the day he bought it.
